Truly. The kids seem to be reasonably well adjusted in spite of their life in a fishbowl and their parents relationship. If given a choice, would they live with mom or dad? I'm guessin' dad...he's easygoin'. ;)

Hmmmm... I think they MIGHT, but seems she would fight tooth and nail for her kids <not a bad thing wanting one's own children. (though I suspect there would be a large measure of pride in that).

I like to think that she would, but with the lure of big bucks, and a lucrative television career, ya never know....

The reason there are so many "lack of reality" shows on now is that the networks don't want to pay the good writers anymore. Don't plan on seeing another MASH or Cheers anytime soon.

I saw something about this on the news this morning and had no clue what they were talking about.

Sadly, that does seem to be true. Sadder still, this particular show seems less "contrived" than others.... which is why I cannot watch it any more than I have.

Only watched one show this weekend while visting my parents with satellite. I was appalled at how rude and bitchy so was. In the show they were organizing the play toys and she so mean saying she had to put both words and pictures since 6 of her 8 kids can't read. That got me cranky. I would never watch another show and really only watched that one show to see what the fuss was about.

I am glad you had the sense to turn away.

I've never heard of it and don't care to hear any more.

Lalalalalalalalaala! I'm not listening.:D
I wouldn't suggest that anyone make any effort to investigate.
I brought this up, not because I like the show, but because many people might be aware of it and therefore have some common ground to discuss.

I find it kind of interesting that most who have weighed in on this here have been men...

Honestly, I think they chose each other and they deserve each other. Saved two other people.

But it's unfortunate that the kids will be the ones who end up paying the price for their choices.

So... I gather you think the both of them are "chumps"...or something.

Neither "worse" or more "at fault" than the other?

I am inclined to think that although all (most?) couples (in Western culture) "chose each other".... we most often do so ill prepared. It is a sad that divorce rates are as high as they are... and that we often just take that route as an easy "out" (rather than work at it)... relationships ARE hard.

Of course the flip side is knowing when it IS best to throw in the towel, for everyone's sake. (and in their case, because it is all on public record. ugh... as you say: "... the kids will be the ones who end up paying the price for their choices."

Perhaps it is time to invest in some ball fertilizer.

[heh heh..... funny that! Balls are supposed to BE (produce!) ferilizer!]

My wife dragooned me into watching the show a few times...yeesh! If I was John I'd be living in a cave in Patagonia right about now. Between that bitch he's chained to and those 8 crumb snatchers running around, it's a wonder he hasn't gone postal. Now that would be a reality show! :D

ITA. Watched one or two shows and thought as soon as those kids are old enough he's going to leave her. Guess he couldn't wait.

Cuz he is a schmuck?
or cuz she is a bitch?

or....?

Just wondering what your take is.

Isn't that what we have now... no-fault divorce?

Giving infertility treatments to these two was like handing a loaded gun to a toddler.

But hey, who am I to judge, right?

Except they put their entire lives on public spectacle...

I was asking your opinion.

Your opinion is valid as an opinion.

Almost sounds like you think they are both immature and the "fault" is with the system or Drs. who allowed them fertility treatments.
