This morning broke nice and clear with a good wind from the East. A gppd day to start on my latest project. I dug out my tools and got to it. My wife wanted a flower bed so I made her a flower bed. (One of four.)

I started by measuring it out and then started digging. That's right, digging. I was going to do this one right. I dug down a foot and then leveled the edges. I started laying in the wood. First the boards were measured and cut to size and shape. Then they were smoothed and a half inch notch cut the length of it. Once the first layer was in place I started on the next layer. Again these boards were cut to shape and length and notched, but these were notched top and bottom.

Into the bottom layer I pounded 1/2 inch by 1 inch boards. These fit into the notches on the bottom boards as well as the top boards. (Which were put into place and pounded down.) Then came the Lag Bolts. (Hey I build to last.)

Layer by layer this was built up until the top layer was eight inches above the ground. OKay that part was done so it was time to fill it in. I had bags of Top Soil and Potting Soil waiting for this. I mixed them together and dumped them in, filling the box to ground level. I kept stopping to tamp it down a bit. Now there was good soil in there to plant in.

I transplanted a Rose Bush from the other side of the trailer as well as planting two new Roses we had picked up. All three are aromatics. (Two white and one red.) As I planted them I added some time release fertilizer. Once they were securely in the ground I added the top layer. Four inches of Mulch. Man it looks nice.

Twenty one inches wide by thirteen feet long on the inside. I'm sure I'll be adding a few more plants to it once the Roses are established.

I have three more of these to build.

I made an appointment to see my doctor today.
Because of that, I will have an MRI on my knee Sat. and see one of the orthopedic specialists next week.

:nana::nana:

I made a 94% and 96% on two writing assignments! I managed to pull that off in spite of several missed grammar errors because the prof thinks I'm just so damn creative! Oh yeah, I intentionally signed up for this dude. No anal English prof for moi!:D

Coasting into the final now . . .

I made progress on my WIP. I made progress on editing. I made someone laugh. I made someone hard.

I made someone realize the importance of allowing an eye doctor to dilate your eyes during your routine checkup.

I refined my face drawing algorithm to reflect a different approach to drawing noses, and tackled a couple of more extreme low angles. Still no scanner.

I made my flower bed way back when, out of large, flattish sandstones, nicely lichened up. Spent all day one day out the desert selecting and loading them.

The ground was uneven so it was terraced, ended up looking pretty good.
