Be pompous, obese and eat cactus.

[singing] Oh, I'm picking out a thermos, for you
Not an ordinary thermos, for you
But the extra-best thermos, you can buy
With vinyl, and stripes, and a cup built right in
I'm picking out a thermos for you
And maybe a barometer too
And what else can I buy, so on me you'll rely
A rear-end thermometer too
[/singing]

I love Steve Martin. :)

The stars in that movie! Excellent stuff!

I love this scene:

Mother: Navin, it's your birthday, and it's time you knew. You're not our natural-born child.

Navin R. Johnson: I'm not? You mean I'm gonna STAY this color?

Mother: Navin, I'd love you if you were the color of a baboon's ass.

Always makes me smile.

:rose:

"He hates these cans! Stay away from the cans!"

[Stan Fox's eyeglasses keep slipping off]

Stan Fox: Damn these glasses son.

Navin R. Johnson: Yes, sir.

[to the glasses]

Navin R. Johnson: I damn thee.

I think that's my favorite line. :D

"Good Lord - I've heard about this - cat juggling! Stop! Stop! Stop it! Stop it! Stop it! Good. Father, could there be a God that would let this happen? "

Well I'm gonna to go then. And I don't need any of this. I don't need this stuff, and I don't need you. I don't need anything except this.

Speaking of a baboon's ass, you should know since you are still a member of RABD. Your racial jokes about black people is just too much. You have crossed the line here. If you want to know what white trash looks like, look in the mirror.

"I slit the sheet, the sheet I slit, and on the slitted sheet I sit." There. I've never been relaxed enough around anyone to say that.

Let me explain the movie to you, since you are now making assumptions about something for which you obviously possess no information.

In the movie the main character, Navin, is white. He has been adopted by a loving black family (was left on their doorstep, actually). Navin believes himself to be black.

In that scene I quoted, which is my favorite from the movie, by the way, Navin has just turned 18 and his adoptive mother tells him he is not her natural child. He is, in fact, adopted. He expresses dismay - he's going to stay this color? he asks? And he sobs.

She hugs him, tells him she'd love him no matter what color he is, and then sings to him while rocking him.

See the movie.

And shut the fuck up.

I don't know why you bothered. The movie's a little too sophisticated for something like that to understand. ;)

The Jerk was on TV late last night.

Our children are enjoying the clips we're finding today.

Classics, man. Gotta respect the classics.

:D

"The new phone books are here! The new phone books are here! 'Johnson, Navin R.'!"

And Cup O' Pizza? Now there's a lunch treat that just didn't catch on like it should've. :)

I know we've only known each other four weeks and three days, but to me it seems like nine weeks and five days.

No time for Netflix....and the local BB didn't have their copy of The Jerk (one of my few unseen classics) in stock. :(
