I think the problem is that the "Bee" doesn't report on fictional stories about a man saving his family from a dog hell bent on eating his wife and children. They would probably report on a true story of someone discharging a firearm in the defense of his family and the resultant police report. Especially with wild dogs being such a problem in the area as your "client" suggested.
