The real problem with the recent election was the voters had no good choice for president.

So we are stuck with what we have and really "good candidates" will not run for election until the turmoil in the world calms down.

That is the bitter truth of this whole mess we are in.

Obama is a show off, a grand stander! His purpose was personal power and prestige. His agenda has not been for us it's been for his ego.

What you are really saying is that no one who agreed with you was running. This is because he would have gotten very few votes.

Basically Obama got 10 million more votes than McCain from a country that has 303 million people.

Do the math :)

Millions did not vote.

Take into account the black population of the United States is 40 million and you have the reason we are fucked! LOL

Millions do not vote in any election. They don't care about politics, and they don't know very much about current events.

No one you like would have done better in the last election than John McCain. He would not have come close.

Most of my friends did not vote and I do not blame them.
Why would anyone waste their vote on either candidate if they did not like either one?

It means exactly what I think it does . . .

But, you were applying it to McCain.

In any case, socialism at the very least requires state or social ownership of the means of production. A European-style tax-redistributive social-democratic welfare state is not socialism. And Obama did not promise and is not likely to deliver any such thing. The most he's going to do is place some corporations and banks under a kind of temporary government receivership on condition of being bailed out by tax dollars, and he's probably not even going to do much of that.

It means exactly what I think it does and it's a close enough representation of the Democrat practice of stealing from A for the economic benefit of B and the overly government controlled capitalism that they promote and represent. I know you don't like it, that's why I use it. To me a Socialist is a Communist in a white shirt. Own it.

Why should he "own it" if he does not agree with it? Just because you think it's the truth?

If I said that all Republicans want is to cut taxes for the wealthiest 1%, whether or not they create or export jobs, just as long as they get their $$ to stimulate the 15-20% of the economy that is driven by investment and then said "own it." would you indeed own it?

But, you were applying it to McCain.

Not only McCain, but, as he said, to ALL Senators....like McCain's buddy Lieberman, Lamar Alexander, Sam Brownback, Saxby Chamblis, Tom Coburn, John Cornyn, Lindsey Graham, Orrin Hatch, Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Mitch McChinless - er - McConnell, Richard "Toyota" Shelby, David "Put on the Diaper" Vitter......

All of 'em - Commies with white shirts! Where's that great patriot Joe McCarthy when you need him?

Nope, I would just realize that folks can say all of the ridiculous things they want around here and never stiffen a hair on your tortured nipple...and feel a minor sense of satisfaction about my effort. Own it.

You're so fixated on my nipple.....and yes, I do own my own nipple.

I already do realize that folks do say all of the ridiculous things they do around here. I have often had that realization while reading your posts. :)

They own a large part of it now, where have you been? Once you take in the corporate tax rate on profits and the capital gains tax you've managed to absorb over half of corporate profits, and face the fact that government manages almost every aspect of corporate and small business activity, so based in that who really owns the means of production?

The capitalists, and they own the government too, or have up to now. You are confusing the ventriloquist with the dummy.

Not at all, I've been watching this show a long time and have it all figured out. Name a capitalist at GM who will benefit now that the government has bought control of their company.

All of them, compared to what would have happened to them without a bailout -- which not even they could reasonably expect to get unconditionally, having failed so disastrously as capitalists.
