So I'll repeat it so your pea-brain can absorb it: I (and I'm sure most others who aren't delusional morons) consider a mainstream publisher to be a publisher whose books are available in a real, live, brick and mortar bookstore.

Well, I certainly wonder if eXcessica's submissions consultant, Ace, would agree with your definition of a mainstream publisher.

OMG! I saw a book over there at Samhain with a cover with lettering on a face!

Oops! I forgot to post the figures on the story sweet sarahhh :rose::rose::rose::rose: covered. You should see the ROYALTIES this one's produced!

Gabby

Hey Gabby, express my condolences to Jim over the Florida State loss. Although personally, I'm not that upset about it since I picked Wisconsin to beat them.

Oh, and I have a favor to ask Jim. I want him to make sure Browns receiver Donte Stallworth gets the max sentence for killing that pedestrian on South Beach while driving drunk. I hate the Browns!

Actually my dear I've always hated FSU. We kick their butts in football every year and thats definately as it should be.

However I also hate all things Big 10! They can't even count how many teams are in their stupid conference.

Anyway the good news is that the Canes hold their Spring Football Game next Saturday and yours truly will be there.

As for poor Donte he's fucked! I don't think he'll be catching any passes next year.

Excellant cover my dear! You're a wonder.

And you haven't answered anyone else's question yet about how many books YOU have out there, besides the one your uncle published for you four years ago that is. Do you have any through MAINSTREAM publsihers? Could I (if I wanted to, which I don't) walk into a bookstore and purchase a book by the uni-tit?

So can I walk into my local Barnes and Noble and buy a book by any of the authors who plug their books on this site?

Where is your submissions consultant, Ace? I really want to hear if he agrees with your definition of mainstream publishers. Wow, I hope he doesn't rag on you for how you spelt publsihers.

I didn't say that, you twit. You asked my definition of a mainstream publisher and I told you. Now you're twisting my words to suit yourself. Tell me you really aren't that fucking stupid.

Hey, I'm just trying to follow you here. I thought you said if a publisher can place your book at a Barnes and Noble, etc. location, as in the physical store, not a web site, it's a mainstream publisher. So I want to know of all the authors who plug their books here, which author should I go look for at my local Barnes and Noble?

Do I need to draw you a map? To the Barnes and Noble store where I want to buy the book?

You really do need your submissions consultant, Ace, to help you out. He must be at some adult book store trying to peddle his stuff.

Spending the evening with John Grisham. Wonder how Freddie is spending his.

You wanted to know of ONE author here who had a mainstream publisher. You didn't ask where to buy their books or anything else. I answered your question, yet you continue to NOT GET IT.

She has a $2.50 e-book by what you define as a mainstream publisher. I'm having trouble being impressed here.

You keep avoiding the question prompted by your very own definition of a mainstream publisher. Where can I buy any book by any of all these authors on this site who plug their books here? You know, at some book store near me that I can walk into with my money.

You really do need your submissions consultant, Ace, to help you out here.

You're not getting it and I'm tired of trying to explain it to you. Go back to your little corner with your crayons and make another cover for scouries' imaginary books, butch.

Hey Ace, help her out here. You're the Submissions Consultant for eXcessica, and author of a book on self publishing, among other things.

What did you think of her definition of a mainstream publisher?

Well, I certainly wonder if eXcessica's submissions consultant, Ace, would agree with your definition of a mainstream publisher.

Questions?

It was your turn to answer questions, Sarahh:

What's your claimed new book on? When will it be finished? Who is your publisher? Do you dare put it up against other books by people around here on comparison lists?

So can I walk into my local Barnes and Noble and buy a book by any of the authors who plug their books on this site?

The answer to that question would be a yes--but I sort of think you probably just didn't ask the question you intended to ask.

Not with a guy, I'm betting.

I tend to agree--but only because a real "guy" probably isn't interested in a whining effeminate closet boy who would yap yap his ear off all evening. :)

I could see him spending the evening with you, though.

and serve as a submissions consultant for eXcessica

So Ace, what exactly is the difference between a submissions consultant and a publishing consultant? Does a submissions consultant make recommendations on what to publish and stuff like that?

Well, I just don't know how to make it any plainer. Give me a title of any book by any of these authors on this site who plug their books here that I can go to my local Barnes and Noble and find on the shelf.

I'm sure you can do it, what with you being Submissions Consultant and all.

*Just sitting back, laughing, and enjoying sarahhh repeatedly flunking out on question #1 of the Lit version of "Are you smarter than a 5th grader"*

You dim-witted fucktard! No one ever said you could buy books from anyone on this thread who promotes them. You asked what a mainstream publisher was. Period. I gave you a definition. But still you continue to blather on about stupid shit.

So let's direct the question to you. Can anyone go to BARNES & NOBLE (not the website but an actual store) or ANY OTHER BOOKSTORE (there is more than just BARNES & NOBLE) and buy any of YOUR books? Published by a MAINSTREAM publisher and not your uncle's backyard printing press? You're so quick to imply that our books can't be bought there, but I'd be yours can't either.

Put up or shut up, butch.

Actually, my books are printed by LightningSource, just like Samhain’s.

But let’s take your example of a MAINSTREAM publisher, Samhain. What are the advantages/disadvantages of going with a MAINSTREAM publisher such as Samhain, as opposed to CreateSpace?

Let’s take Ace’s book in print Cruising Through History with a list price of $19.99 as an example. Despite the fact that he is your submissions consultant and an author of a book on publishing so he alleges, he had no clue how much profit his book was making, but you may recall I calculated his profit for him under the Pro Plan to be $11.37 profit per book via CreateSpace and $7.38 at Amazon.com.

Samhain pays an author 8% royalty on print books, but keeps 3% in reserve for book returns, so in actuality an author is making 5%. If Ace’s print book Cruising Through History was published by Samhain, he would be making $1 profit per book sold.

Wow, $1 profit per book compared to $11.37.

Anybody got any advantages for the MAINSTREAM publisher to counter this rather substantial disadvantage?

Here’s a question for LITEROTICANS: Should a story that’s never been completed be pulled from the site? A story that has left the readers hanging (and pissed off).

Do we as authors have a responsibility to finish our stories in a timely manner?

Or should the QUEEN :cattail: take the responsibility to delete them?

These thoughts were prompted by a story that recently entered he 100+COMMENTS CLUB. It’s called:

To Tempt The Devil Pt. 1

It’s a long story (12 pages) and apparently (according to the comments posted- see some below) has no ending (although one was promised some five years ago).

I’m not trying to pick on this specific author (I’ve done the same thing) but instead simply raise the question of what we as authors owe our readers and this story seems to be a perfect example of the problem.

This is why the rules of submission

should be changed. The story should be complete before submission is allowed. Even some of those that are finished aren't posted timely allowing weeks and even months before each chapter is posted. One has to go back and re-read the story to remember what it was all about. Maybe readers should start complaining to the staff of Literotica for some change. Since this story was left hanging, I won't comment on it.

Outstanding

Stumbled on this from the top rated list. I noticed the title said "Part 1", but then I saw 12 pages, so figured it was a complete story. I loved every page, but like all the other commenters, I am disappointed to not find a story end or continuation. You posted this in 2004, so I suppose there's not much hope you'll finish it. Perhaps you've published the complete story somewhere else??

This story is amazing. I love the storyline and I really wish you would finish it!! I've been waiting for over a year for the ending! I simply don't want to use my imagination as you create a much better story than I do! Please finish this because this is one of my top three favorites on this site!
