Looking quickly at your list my biggest surprise is how many people read BDSM. I never would have guessed.

Secondly it does appear at first glance that your average scores have gone down since the new voting system was put into place. Certainly its happened on my stories. I'd love to see MANU post and tell us what has happened to average scores by category since his changes.

Interestingly (especially given your last line and cheap shot) I don't think I've ever voted for one of your stories (except perhaps a contest one when i was reading contest stories). As for any you've put on LITEROTICA lately I'm sorry but I haven't read them let alone voted on them. In fact I don't think I've read more than twenty stories by other authors all year. Here are the numbers on some of the same stories from a different site. I'd tell you which site but they don't take incest stories. sorry.

The views, reads and votes, also the scores reflect the same kind of numbers as Lit.

Lets see, there are views and reads, which dio your royalties come from and how do you know?

Perhaps you missed this line “The few votes I get (percentage wise)”.

Votes are a product of two things: one, the number of views; and two, the percentage of viewers who took the time to vote.

While I may have higher vote totals generally than you probably two thirds of the difference can be attributed to more views and only a third to the fact I get a higher percentage participation rate.

And much of the higher participation rate advantage I have over you is due to the fact I now ask readers to vote at the end of all my stories. Since I started that quite some time ago I started to get higher percentages.

The main point I’ve being trying to make (and you and others never acknowledge – instead you try to belittle or insult me) is that none of us gets enough votes!

I’d love to see us all get twenty, thirty, forty per cent voter participation rates.

I don’t believe many other people here on site want that. For the simple reason that it’ll mean everyone’s score will go down. And most of you are so afraid of facing that reality…

Again the cheap shot! Grow up man.

The figures for this unnamed site of yours actually are significantly different (if I'm reding them correctly).

For example:

Around Midnight on LIT got 175 votes on over 100,000 views. Which means about one in 600 voted.
On the other site it got 87 votes on 4458 views – which is about one in 50 or so. Which is a ten times better participation rate than here.

Wednesday Afternoon on LIT - 70 on 20,000 – one in 300 voted. On the other 88 on 4343 – about one 45 or so.

Just thought I might jump in here for a sec, Jimmy. If you don't mind, that is.

If the prerequisite for a "bestseller" is 100,000 views or more, and based upon the existence of said bestsellers you derive royalties (for being, apparently, one of the principle draws to Literotica), then it would only make sense that the other authors who have such "bestselling" stories should receive royalties as well. After all, Laurel and Manu, according to you, reward those who bring readers to this site.

I'm only asking because of the fact that I have five stories with over 100,000 views, and the Texas Literotica Fan Club has voted me one of their favorite authors, oh, and, they would love it if I had a yacht docked at Galveston so we could have Literotica-sponsored cruises and the like.

You know, like you do.

I'd be happy to post those numbers, if you like.

This is fairly simple, scouries.

I'm willing to bet that the other site Tex is referencing requires a member login. SOL also requires a member login.

Just the simple fact that only people who can be assed to sign up for an account are included in the totals will increase the view to vote ratio.

Sign-up will never be required here. Therefore, that boost isn't going to happen. Stroke readers are still going to come here for their gratification, not yours. They're busy cleaning up at the end of the story, not voting. People who gag on paragraph two of a story still aren't going to scroll to the bottom of page two to leave a vote.

Not to mention that nobody other than the site owners has the slightest idea what a "view" is.

A lot of SOLs numbers are no more transparent or fathomable than the ones here. Just look at the Qscore ( your score is based upon everybody else's scores? WTF? ) or the download count for multi-chapter stories ( 3000 maximum readers on any chapter, but the download count shows 13000 or so, which isn't remotely the total number of downloads of all chapters WTF? )

But do feel free to keep on crunching those numbers. Every minute you're scratching your head and staring at a column of numbers is a minute that you're not here.

No disrespect taken. Thanks so much for the welcome back. My fans have been swarming and it's absolutely wonderful.

I think you gentlemen are missing the point in writing for the readers when you focus so much on votes and scores. Since I haven't been writing recently, I haven't even checked my scores but to check for new comments every once in a while. Don't you realize that writing for your fans is a much nobler cause than writing for votes or comments or scores? Contests mean little if your work isn't touching it's target audience. Since my story came out on "that other site" I've received almost a hundred emails. Each one means more to me than scores or votes. It's much nicer to receive emails stating how your words or how one character manages to make someones life better. I get emails from women who had to be on bed rest during their pregnancy. They tell me how much my stories made their time stuck in bed easier to handle. That is much nicer than scores or votes.

So I think if you are going to focus upon that, maybe you should give up writing and become accountants. Just my opinion. It's only worth what you make of it.
