I'm like you Keroin.
Which is why I get confused when people change their Avs too often. There was a short period when MWY had a cartoon Fluffernutter sandwich as his Av. I could not take anything seriously coming from a sandwich.

I always feel better when I see Spencer.

Ah, and now I've gone and changed my AV. I wanted to put on a photo of my cat, Emily, she is turning 15 today. (Happy birthday Emmy! Mommy misses you! xoxoxo). It came out blurry though, so it looks more like a Rorschach ink blot than a cat. She'd probably approve. Emily is quite ornery, hates to be photographed, hates...well, pretty much everything.

Forgot to mention, your AV voice actually comes out as music. You sound like Enya singing. Lovely.

I sound like I've been out drinking all night, which I haven't. Now I wonder if any women like it when a guy sounds like that.

Happy birthday Emmy!

Thanks! If she were here, she'd hiss at you. If I know the old girl, I'm sure she's celebrating by hacking up furballs into grandpa's shoes.

Sad she can't travel with me anymore but it's just not fair at her age. She's been to Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, the Bahamas, across the continental US, etc. She's traveled by boat, truck and plane. She used to love to camp - sleep in the tent all day, chase rodents all night. Yep, I miss her. *wipes away stray tear*

At least I have the comfort of knowing she's making my dad's life miserable, and that's something.

Your AV voice is like the Danish version of James Spader. Creepy but in a good way. Does that make sense?

Hmm I can't recall how James Spader sounds like, but I'll take you word for it, that it's in a good way.

Btw, you can hear my voice here, like it usually sounds :)

Tell me I'm not the only person who does this. When I read a post, I always imagine the avatar as the narrator. I'm certain this colours the actual tone of whatever the person is trying to say but I can't help it.

<snippage>

Does anyone else do this? Anyone?

Yes. I've been voicing Litizens in my head for years now. :)

And just as an FYI sort of thing, the current Av is Katheryn Grayson... as close as it gets to "me" without being "me". (Although I think she's much prettier.)

The most common comment I get re: my voice is that I don't have an accent (I'm from Texas, but other than the occasional "y'all" you'd never know it), and that I have a really nice phone voice.

DARN. Now I know why I am not taken seriously ... I bet my voice sounds like an ass!

As for myself, I used to do that. But I've turned all AV and images off so, it is all words for me now. I notice it actually have helped me get a better feel for the written "voice" of the posters :)
(and I can check the boards even with family or other people around :D )

She's lovely but in that photo she almost looks like a young Judy Garland - and that's whose voice I hear. I love the old time actors. I once doubled Barbara Rush and she was more glamorous as a senior citizen than any young actress I've ever met. I look nothing like her, except for height and weight, BTW.

Harve Presnell was also working on that episode and the two of them told me all these stories from the heydays of Hollywood. Very cool.

This is the closest to me without being me. (Well, minus the Borg eye patch and slinky leotard).

(No, my boobs are not that big but neither are hers!)

I'm glad to know I'm, not alone in my voicing.

No, your AV voice is young and coquettish. Always on the verge of laughter.

Thank you!
Alas, I do not want to break your illusion but my voice is low pitch, husky, energetic and cheerful.

(remembering the picture with the big fish ... I'm not sure she is prettier than you

@Harmony_1985: that hurts! poor girl ... kisses for the toes.
(the way I do to avoid such thing as much as possible: give new shoes a couple of trial runs at home, figure out where they rub and put flesh or transparent colored band-aids on the rubbing spots when wearing them for long time outside the house) :)

ouch

Ouch for the comment with the shoes! I was walking in heels last night and my feet really hurt today! I need to start practicing more!
