Some back ground is in order I suppose.
I live across the street from a strip mall with several restaraunts and stores in it. I live less than a mile down the street from a large covered mall. Directly on the other side of the hedge seperating the park from the main road is a bus stop.
This afternoon I was out in the yard doing some work. (Okay so I was watering the roses. Yes I actually have roses growing in southern Florida.) As I was standing at the corner of the trailer I watched as a young woman pushed her way through the hedge, looked around for a minute, then dropped her drawers while squatting down. WTF?
I yelled at her not to do that in my yard and she responded with the universal sign that I was number one in her book. I didn't hesitate, I cooled her off as she was obviously suffering from the heat by thinking my yard was her personal bathroom. That got a more energetic response as she took off out of there holding her pants up with one hand and cursing me in Creole. Too bad I hadn't sprayed her sooner though as there was now evidence of her visit sitting in the grass next to the hedge. I left it there for the time being as I went back to work in the yard. I would remove it later.
A short time later there was the slamming of a cars door from out front. Within minutes I was being hailed by an older gentleman in a dark blue uniform. He asked if I lived there and I admitted that I had while wondering what was going on. He then informed me that he had a complaint against me for assault and battery. Huh?
We talked for a bit and it slowly came out. The young lady had called the local police and told them I had attacked her without provocation. That was when I explained my side of the story and showed the evidence. The cop was not amused. He told me to hang tight and not remove the evidence as he went to check things out.
He came back a short time later with his supervisor and the young lady. The cops appologised to me then had her appologise as well as she cleaned up her mess. (She wasn't happy about this let me tell you.) I talked with both of the cops and made sure they had photographs of the evidence left behind as well as her comments and admission on record. They knew what I was thinking and assured me they did. They also gave me the case number and told me they would personally deliver a copy of the police report for my files.
I just know that I'll be getting served sometime in the near future because of this.
