Bristol and Levi have broken up! Gasp!

Oh my stars and garters, what a surprise.

You wear garters?

if you ask me nicely, I will. *angel eyes*

VM, the thread title is from Casablanca. As Claude Reins gendarmes are closing down Rick's Cafe, he says this to Rick, only to be interrupted by a man handing him his winnings.

and yes, it is the long-predicted and often denied fate of the relationship of Sarah Palins daughter. After the over the top oratory and media shield-bashing about how these kids were not normal teenagers but destined for fifty blissful years, I found it amusing and even slightly reassuring to see them act normal.

This is not to say I was wishing the demise of the relationship. I wasn't.

We'll see what you have under your kilt.

I'll ask first.

;)

But you point it out such a disgustingly delighted manner.
Par for the course around here.

What matters is that Bristol kept the child...and she wanted to marry the father, right?

To the Christian Right, almost anything can be forgiven so long as you say, "I made a mistake!" AND so long as you campaign on their side afterwards. Did you sleep with a gay prostitute? Say you made a mistake, get "cured" and go back to preaching about the sins of being gay. All's forgiven. Did you have an abortion? Say that you made a mistake, show great remorse, and join protests against abortion. All is forgiven.

The only unforgivable sin is to refuse to acknowledge that they are right.

Just to add, this wouldn'ta happened if Palin had gone to the White House. So it's all the fault of the liberal left for electing Obama anyway. :D

But you point it out such a disgustingly delighted manor.

My manner is something you added to my written word. Therefore, it is you who decided it was "delighted." I assure you, the choice of the "rolling eyes" smiley was the correct one. If I had intended the "huge grin" smiley, I would have used it.

I'm on Bristol's side. Not her mothers.

How have you managed to miss the general tone of her actual conversations with the media? While I am certain that she is as heartbroken as only a teenager can be, I am happy that she was not forced into a marriage to a high school dropout who has now been dismissed from the job he left high school to take because that apprenticeship program requires a high school diploma.

I hope that Bristol finds happiness on her own path, not one dictated to her.

By the way, nice freudian slip. A manor is where a feudal lord lives, appropriate since Bristol's opinion mattered about as much as a serf's.

That's why you posted it where scorn and ridicule would rule? Where the hatred of all things and people Republican is the rule? You didn't expect the snide crap would be directed at her, just her Mom? You couldn't be that stupid!
Truly despicable.
The fact that you posted it says all that needs to be said about your character.

I'm happy that it's over. The two of them would be miserable in an early marriage.

The poor girl has enough to bear with her mother.

The poor boy I presumed has learned about safe sex and will not leave a string of bastards across the state.
