I respond to as many PMs as I can but I can't respond to them all. I always try and answer ones from people I 'know' but from people with no posts and that I have no clue who they are I sometimes don't...particularly if they are offering /asking for cyber/sex/private pics. I am far more likely to engage in PM chats with someone that has got to know me through my threads or the boards first

I agree ERF. I used to try to answer them all, but if someone PMs while including a bit of a lie about their age/married state (after having scanned my prof & not realizing I'm literate), with a seemingly condescending message or a slightly lazy message (expecting me to do all the work) then I'm less inclined to respond. If someone's honest about their state or why their PMing, I'm more inclined to get back to them.

Well put, I completely agree.......its hard but if you haven't engaged with me in the thread, I really have a hard time responding to requests etc. But of course it depends on the PM!

I pm people when there seems to be something interesting about them that catches my eye and look at their posts to see what they are about....

And I always try to repect their profile info...

I do my very best to respond to PMs. Sometimes though it takes a bit to respond because I am trying to think of the correct way to word something. I don't ignore anyone, although I am pretty sure I have never had a PM just asking for cyber or private pics.

I always do. It just seems rude for me not to. If someone takes the time to write to me then I respond. Now if it's just I want to fuck you... I'll normally say "thanks" and leave it at that. . But most of the PM's I get are so sweet and nice.

Your pms are turned off. Click on the "User CP" link on the upper left, then click on Edit Options, and towards the bottom you will see a check box for "Enable Private Messages"
