Yeah, I think under Lit's guidelines, it'd be rejected. Make the youngest character 18 and you won't have a problem.

And you'd have to up him a grade in school, too. Not too many 18 year olds are still juniors in high school.

So, 1) change his age, 2) change his grade, 3) take out the reference to taking the SAT's early (that'll help 'verify' the age)

I mean, if you want to leave it the way it is and try to submit it, you can, but I'd almost guarantee a rejection.

Sorry, guess you'll have to write elsewhere then. This Web site doesn't do much mulling concerning the age thing, and it's not a nudist site. If you can't make the same thing work with a twenty-six-year-old, you are playing on purient interest with the underaged.

Not in the nude, just talking about it. And any objective reader could see that this does not play to any purient interest with regards to the underaged.

Obviously if there is no sex, nudity or any of that sort of thing, it'd probably be okay. Non-sexual situations. There are quite a few stories where there is a character or characters that are under the age of 18.

A friend of mine wrote a story awhile back and it started off with the two main characters being 17. In one particular scene, they were parked in a van at a drive-in and only kissing and Lit rejected it. When she took out the reference to their ages, the story was accepted.
