Found this in an article. That adds up to 41 square kilometers of forest cut down every day for the last forty years. Does that sound a bit unbelievable to anyone else? I watched them clear cut the small bit of forest across the highway from my office, and it took about twenty men a few days to cut down everything in one square mile. I realize there would be more people working on such a large project as the elimination of a rain forest, but 41 square kilometers a day for forty years sounds downright ridiculous when thinking of the logistics of such a project.

I don't think they use the same tools as your 20 men. It would be too expensive to bring those for just one square mile.

So why are we all so uncomfortable when those who have lost the most can't step up to the social "niceties" - why nitpick and backbite? I got about 3.5 hours sleep...i dreamt that i was giving birth to twins. In my dream, it was here and now, me in london, at my parents house, as i am now, delivering twins at home with no time to get to the hospital...my dad delivered them, like he delivered me...it was odd. I dreamt that dad didnt cut the second twin's umbilcal cord because he wasnt sure if he should leave it to a doctor or not, so i was walking around (what!? after having twins?!) with twin 2 in my arms, still attached (as it were...) via her umbilical cord...
