Which name combination do you like?

If you like them switched around, tell me the new variation.

I really like the first names Logan and Garen, however, since the last name ends with "n," I would shy away from them.

Here's a trick to figure out which name works (I used it with all three of mine): go outside, and scream all three names together at the top of your lungs, do it several times. Which ever one still sounds okay is the one you should pick. Trust me, you're going to scream it that way for years and years. :)

I like that plan.

But help me out... why does the last name ending with 'n' matter?
(is obvsiously borrowing someone's elses no thinking brain... ugh)

I don't mind the names ending in the same sound. What I do mind is the first name ending with the same sound as the beginning of the last name. I made this mistake with my daughter's name. I think I always included her middle name before she was born and didn't realize the same sound thing until she started nursery school. Actually, it may have been after that, because we always used a nickname for her.

Does that make any sense at all?

The first name ends with an S sound, and the last name begins with an S sound. When said together, they kind of slur into each other.

There. :D

I voted for Ansel. But I had to do a double take at your spelling of Aleksander. My son's middle name is Aleksandr. Very close! ;)

I think Garron is a great name, but agree with Cloudy that it can sound a bit peculiar when they both end with the same sound.... a bit plastic or something.

Remember, also, whatever name you pick is going to be shortened by his friends in later life, so make sure it's not going to bee shortened to something you hate...

You think I'm kidding, but I'm not. Really. When you have to start yelling all three of the kid's names together, you don't want one that ties your tongue in knots, and you may be thinking, "I'll never do that. My mother did that, and I hated it," but trust me - you WILL do that.

As I said in my pm, an "n" is almost like a full stop to me, and two full stops in one name just sounds awkward, IMO.

It's true. It's all true.

For...your son? Or a character? ;)

And for the record, I like Wyatt. Why not Wyatt Ansel Houston? Of course, that makes his initials "WAH" but middle names don't get used that much. Wyatt Houston is a cool, guy name. He sounds solid and strong.

I thought the names were for a girl! Well, they did sound kind of masculine, but I don't like girly names.

What's wrong with WAH?

Okay I decided to have fun and walk outside and scream the names.... I was howling with laughter trying to get at least two of them out :D

Ansell is the name of a well known variety of condom so that might be a consideration:D

Another reason to go with Wyatt. Good screaming name. "Wyyyyyaaaaaattttttt! You get your butt on home right now!"

Granted that Wyatt Houston does sound like he should be carrying a six shooter and wearing a tin star. And riding a horse named trigger so something like that.

I don't mind that, personally. Kidlet's first and last name end in "n". I think it works best if there's a shorter, simple middle name in between though. It has a better ring to it for me.

I like Garen Wyatt Houston combo. It's different. Logan has gotten to be kind of a popular name in the last several years; I know four at kidlet's school, atm.

What's wrong with names like William and Michael and James?
I wanted to name our son William and call him 'Liam', but hubby's family was so enormous that there were bound to be dozens of people running around with the same name. I do think a name should reflect your heritage, but not to the extent where you're getting mistaken for some other dude all the time.

LOL... I could buy him a pair of chaps....LOL

But Ansel works, too.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel!"

:p

I just tried that one outside.... and was laughing because I suddenly sounded like aunt b yelling.... "AAAANNNNNNN-ssssseeeeeLLLLLL"

:D
