During the ice storm, we kept hearing a meowing, but we couldn't find a cat. I thought she was under the house because we kept looking in the garage and not finding anything. Yesterday, my husband got in the garage and looked around and found her. We thought she might belong to a neighbor because she looked very well taken care of, so I went around and asked.

Turns out someone dumped her and another cat out here right before Christmas and a neighbor had been feeding them, but both of them had disappeared in the last few days. She was afraid dogs had gotten them. She told us she would continue to feed them if they showed up, but she wasn't going to take them in, so my husband and I talked about (along with all the "can we keep her, please?" from our kids) and decided to take her in. It's obvious she was a house cat wherever she was last.

We also think she's pregnant, so we will have kitties to give away at some point (may keep one but that's all). Anyway, the kids are over the moon to have their first pet, though they aren't so keen on her trying to jump into bed with them in the middle of the night, lol.

She looks a little ragged in that picture because she'd just had a bath and wasn't fully dry yet.

Such a pretty kitty. Yes she is. Oh such a pretty kitty kitty.

I hope the other one is ok and taking shelter somewhere.

The neighbor lady said if he came back to her house, she was gonna put him inside until a friend of hers could come get him. Hopefully he will go back there. We haven't seen him anywhere around here.

She's gorgeous, and that smudge on her nose makes her look like she put it where it didn't belong. :) I also hope the other one found shelter from the ice storm.

awwww

What a cutie pie... a beautiful calico girl.
Cudo's to you Dear Crim...

I'm always doing shit like this

Hubby said the smudge (which is actually a scar) looks like someone burned her with a cigarette or something similar.

Jesus. There's a special place in hell for those who abuse animals.

Good on you and your whole family, Crim.

Cats usually know the best place to go for food, safety, love. :rose:

It's sad to say, but it seems that getting dumped by her previous owners was probably the best thing that could have happened for her. Glad she found such a loving family. :)

If that is from a cigaret burn, it was definitely abuse. No cat would ever get his or her nose close enough to a lit cigaret to be accidentally burned.

awwww she's sweet!

I so wish I wasn't allergic!

Cats are an unusual allergen, as sharing a living space with a cat usually renders one immune to the allergens from that particular cat...
Though I have also noticed my allergic reactions to dogs reducing since my mum got one and I've spent more time with her.

She's beautiful Crim, I hope you all have a very happy life together :)

Tried that. We had two... couldn't breathe for a year. Finally, had to give them up to a friend, and whew... can breathe again! Miss 'em tho...

My mom and sister are allergic, too... same thing.

Guess you're just special then :)

ps- sent you a mail.

She's a real sweet looking girl! I think your kids will have to get used to sharing their beds, though ;)

Three of my pride were foundlings.

She seems to have her days and nights mixed up. She was prowling about most of the night and has slept most of the day, lol.
