You know, I couldn't help but notice, even after two weeks of the Readers' Choice nomination threads being posted and two links on the New Stories page directing people to the threads, NONE of scouries' or sarahhh's millions of adoring fans have come forth to flood the boards with their nominations.

Matter of fact, beyond a handful (who may or may not be scouries/sarahhh with yet another alt) the only nominations scouries has received, have been from his alts.

Yet when a relatively new author gets nominated, he spouts off about the people voting being nothing but alts of that author.

Yeah, how great art thou now?

First of all, it shouldn’t be called the “Readers” Choice awards, now should it. Very few of your typical readers (you know, ones who don’t have a vested interest in winning the awards, but just come here for the stories) follow the links you mentioned to the threads. If they did, you would have a whole lot more nominations, and you wouldn’t go more than a week without any nominations whatsoever on any of the threads.

What, you don’t think I could get a bunch of nominations if I wanted to? I’d much rather just sit back and watch this scam and all the orchestration and manipulation unfold. And LMFAO at how obvious and arrogant the players are. I mean, this thing puts the phony in baloney. I had promised myself I wasn’t going to complain about the monthly winners any more. I’d felt that my complaints, which were directed at the system and the QUEEN , were being interpreted as attacks on the authors themselves. They never were.

The second and third prize winners are later chapters in non human stories. Non human stories are now challenging Romance stories for most monthly wins in LITEROTICA history. Does anyone in their right mind (no, not you or ) really believe non-human stories are the READERS CHOICES?

You’re quite right. And the category contains some very good stories. And some very good authors (Elianna, Isobel, DK , and secretme among others).

One of the interesting things about LITEROTICA is that an erotic/porn story site has grown these little niches where Sci-Fi, Non-human and Erotic Horror stories (to name just three examples) have been able to live and prosper. And LAUREL should be commended for allowing this.

It has to be noted though that in total numbers of stories submitted, readers and views, Non Human is not a very significant (in terms of the total LITEROTICA audience) category. It’s a backwater. It couldn’t exist without the popular categories that drive the site. At present only some 2800 stories are shown and when all the chapters are taken into account there may only be some 500 odd different Non human stories on LIT.

To believe that a non-human story on an erotic story site could ever be the “READERS CHOICE” for the month is silly.

But it is a category that is characterized by a very loyal audience who scores their favorites stories very highly (when compared to stories in other categories). This gives Non Human stories a significant advantage in the monthly contests when they are compared to stories in other categories. Certain Michigan people simply don’t have the brainpower to grasp this concept and its implications.

The other issue is that the Non Human stories that win are invariably later chapters – meaning that those who get to later chapters (in this instance Ch 7 and Ch 10) almost always vote 5. The story loses all the 1’s and 2’s and 3’s in the first couple of chapters. This has been discussed repeatedly in the past and has led to various proposals (including my own) to even the playing field.

LAUREL could easily fix the problem if she chose to – instead she leaves this festering quagmire so she can amuse herself while pampering her favorites. Either that or she’s a ROMANTIC VAMPIRE. Which is possible…
