I'm looking for input here.
I know most women trim or care for their topiary and some men too...but what i want to know is:
  1. frequency
  2. type of cutting apparatus
  3. creams, lotions, powders...etc

not that I have anything against Rapunzel-esque-ish-ness but im curious because not a lot of people talk about this.

what is your preference?
landing strip?
hearts, arrows, nothing at all?

I take very good care of my nether bits. I prefer a bit of natural growth with soft texture to the hair and minimal coverage on the key areas below the mound. I personally dislike landing strips and designer looks. Instead, I prefer the traditional 'V' shape. I use a personal groomer that is marketed as a beard trimmer for men. But, it works nicely down there. It's small and easy to handle; it doesn't hit the skin, so there are no razor bumps and the like. As to products, I use Aveda shampoo and conditioner and for after, I use Nivea skin cream to moisturize. I regularly daub powder and perfume just because I like to and it's nice in case my girlfriend happens to visit down there. :)

There's a cool website that I reviewed not long ago. It's gotten raves, but I haven't tried the products yet. I'm tempted to though. Here's the link:

I opted for the full laser treatment. Bald as a baby with no muss, fuss or ouchies. It's a little on the expensive side, but when you think about never having to shave, trim or pluck again, it is SO worth it.

I do Guns & Roses...WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE

You're welcome for the link, hon. I agree with you about the cessation of the shaving. I used to do that too, and I just didn't like the results as much as a close trim.

Xacto knives indeed! LOLOLOL!

i would so love to do this but maybe leaving a little
besides...
$$$$$ DAYUM!

Completely bare (as you know). Shave with every shower. I use Intuition. The cartridges are expensive, though. Venus is also good, but I'm more likely to draw blood with it. Peppermint oil afterward to prevent razor bumps. Tea tree oil works well for that, too -- but it doesn't smell or taste as good. ;)

There is a little electric shaver that I have. It's specifically for the bikini area and it a product for women but hair is hair and it works for me too. I just trim to keep things orderly and that is what I prefer.
No clue what it is called though.

frequency? as often as needed, sometimes daily sometimes not :(

type of cutting apparatus? I just use a Venus razor and a bit of the gel type shaving foam.

creams, lotions, powders? it gets a swipe of lotion/baby oil when I'm getting out of the shower just as everything else does. I'm one of the lucky ones who never has issues with ingrown hairs, razor bumps, etc.

My own preference for myself is low and neat on top, trimmed into the natural v-shape, and bare underneath, because it just FEELS better.

i tend to like things just trimmed up but...i like variety as well.

a friend of my just told me about this "super secret" method she learned from her porn star friend:

shave with conditioner
use apricot facial scrub after...gently
apply cocoa oil

i tired this last night.
not a fan of shaving every day so this might be an issue for me. but like i said, im in experiment mode

If you don't want to shave all the time, using hair conditioner on it in between helps it not to feel so prickly.

I also read somewhere that if you put Dove underarm deodorant on it after shaving, it reduces the bumps. I haven't tried it though. Doesn't seem like it would...um...be very appetizing. :D

I have an electric "personal" shaver that seemed to work really well, but the blades got dull after only a few uses. I'd have to order new blades from their website, and, frankly, I'm too lazy. I was thinking of getting a regular men's electric shaver to see how that works.

Let's see...

1. But it's sooo smooooth.

2. Wouldn't a little TLC help?

3. Are suggesting what's good for the goose...?

:)

1. Uh huh.

2.

3. Yes. (Though I have to admit I don't find bald testicles very aesthetically pleasing.) Just saying, if you're going to suggest such a thing, you should really try it yourself first.

Plot bunny for the humor category? :)

I'm so glad I'm a lesbian cuz the very word 'bald testicles' kinda gives me a bad feeling in my stomach. (No offense to testicle owners or testicle lovers. Just sayin.')

I am a fan of the trim look myself...:cathappy:

I just use a razor and Kama Sutra Mint Tree Soap...prevents irritation (but not always). Also it leaves me feeling minty fresh! :D

I only shave once or twice a week.

This topic is making me a little warm...:)

For some reason I really really want to drop the words weed wacker in right here.
Just 'cos.

And also, "Straight Shaft Convertible Brushcutter" sounds extremely dirty to me.
Brushcutter. I like that as an insult as well as a pussy excavator/other dirty linguistic artefact. This post has been multi-purpose for me.

How come nobody has mentioned waxing?

DUDE! Waxing was created by the devil (or a man )! It was right after my first (and last) wax job that I decided it was a VERY worthwhile investment to go for the laser treatments.

One thing that used to make shaving a LOT better, back in the day, was doing it "tag team". Amy shaved me and was ever so gentle, cuz she knew I was going to shave her next. It is really amazing just how careful you can be... ;) ('course the "taste tests," when we were finished, were kind of a nice bonus too!)

I prefer my women au natural - not because I like hair in my teeth, but because half the fun is shaving it off myself, rubbing in the oils and unguents, etc. - it's great foreplay, and it can be kind of a fun ritual.

That brushcutting has become de rigeur has taken a lot of the naughty fun out of it, IMO; although I'll allow as it may have to do with the fact that Americans just don't have as much time on their hands these days - got all those labor saving devices to pay for after all.

:D I so dig you. Too bad I'M not a lesbian, huh?

The very idea of a razor on that shifty, wrinkly testicle skin gives me a bad feeling. Very bad, indeed.

I usually get a teensy bit warm while actually shaving. Maybe due to the warm, vibrating sensation from my shaver or possibly the fact that I'm watching myself very closely in the mirror. This borders on TMI, doesn't it?
