Just recently took LT off, but saw some stuff today that made me want to put him back on.

For my first three, almost four years here I had two names on iggy. They were bots who posted immensely long posts that took thirty seconds to scroll past. Then a third started posting huge, thread-stretching pictures of scat porn and dead people and stuff. Then I got sick of all of them and went nuts for a couple days.

I generally don't like to use ignore.

I didn't have anyone at all on ignore for the first two years I was here, but then some really ugly pictures popped up and people kept quoting them. I think I have about 25 people on my iggy list.

The other two joints that split off from here are what they are and have by now affirmed their own identities. They're working because they wanted a viable community that runs on basic respect. Whether they're boring or exciting is up to the members. Don't count on a mass return to the motherland. It's not gonna happen. It's like the zombie virus that wiped out 98% of humanity in I Am Legend. Find out a way to live in the new world that co-exists with the zombies running rampant.

A few days ago I actually reached a plateau with the ignores.

For almost the space of two days, I didn't see any new "bullshit" posts when I logged in and kept hitting New Posts. By bullshit posts I also include the stupid, go-nowhere political posts that are just beards for Obama-bashing. And then I realized that I basically ignored pretty much ALL the people that start the regular crap.

I would see that they still existed, when they posted in other more site-relevant threads started by other people. But their posts were non-existent to my eyes. And I thought then, that if I cleared my ignore list, I would be deluged and then submerged with a tidal wave of bullshit posts that would sear my eyes down to quartz crystals and singe my skin to the bone.

I wanted it to last forever. It was a pure, "quiet" Lit GB as I have never, ever seen it before. Like when Tom Cruise runs in an abandoned Times Square in Vanilla Sky. You know it's not supposed to be like this, but it is, if only for a little while. And for a little while it was. New alts were shat forth and forgotten, old threads for purposes that no longer matter were bumped up to the top.

There might be a balance or a sea change towards the better in the future, but I cannot say when this will happen.

The roaches have very few places to go any more. This little slice of the bigger board is what keeps the rest relatively hassle free. Minimal pesticide needed.
As a virtual fly strip, this place has done it's job and will continue to. Hanging here to watch the downfall will be a long affair, I fear.

I had less than 200 and I was told I was putting EVERYONE on ignore and I'd have no one to talk to.

Funny how everyone who said that suddenly scrambled to hop the shut-the-fuck-up train when I pointed out other popular litsters with iggy lists twice as big as mine at the time.


I put people on ignore who cut their own limbs off in fights with me and call themselves victors after they've stood their waving their arms and legs like maniacs. As a result, Lit's looking a lot better now.
