As long as you make it clear that your dealing with the few adult pokemon characters or aging the younger characters, the fictional universe shouldn't cause a problem with either Lit or the law.

Yep, you're not going to get away with using any existing human characters from the world that aren't already over the 18 barrier. I think this is the same restriction that dominates rejections of similar situations, like Harry Potter.

Although, with those characters continually aging, and coming up on legal age at the end of the series, that particular example might change.

Personally, I don't see why not, as long as you have the appropriate disclaimers and don't use the characters that are known to be under 18 in sexual situations.
