When I was younger I kept a journal but found out very quickly that my mother liked to snoop through my room and read my journal. To be able to keep the journal and not really care if she read if I started to write my entries as poetry. That way they were cryptic and prone to rhyming but did not sound like a normal journal entry. Sometimes I still write like that when I need to get something out without having to launch into a long explanation. It's simpler and sometimes quite good.

I only know broken Spanish as another option. I did go through a phase where I would make my own code type thing. Wrote one of Shakespeare's Soliloquies in it across the back of a notepad once. It looked pretty cool and I could read it off whenever I wanted.
