I think the lack of quality posters is because of the recent Lit alternatives. I think the reason for the Lit alternatives is because of the recent crop of trolls (they come in waves) coinciding with posters with bb knowledge. I think the recent crop of trolls is because of lack of GB mods. In short, I think some light moderation could've saved Lit. LJ is definitely not the poster to do that, but I think a lot of Lit posters are qualified.

More awareness on preventing AIDS in the gay community would be welcome, in my opinion.

To me, that's like saying we don't need more sex ed in school. Come on, look at all the unwanted teen pregnancy and instances where kids that are still in high school get STI's! These kids are gay and straight, and have no idea how to protect themselves because their parents were too fucking shy to talk to their own children about the birds and the bees!

I'm on another site called 'dear cupid' that is FULL of young teens who are just starting out their sexual life and have no idea how to use condoms to prevent diseases, have no clue about hormonal birth control or even how women get pregnant.

I've seen questions like "Can tongue kissing get me pregnant?" From 15-16 year old girls. FIFTEEN AND SIXTEEN YEARS OLD!! By the time I was -nine- I knew everything about sex, including everything necessary about condoms and birth control so when I did start having sex, I could be smart about it.

Unless we start teaching kids young (gay AND straight) about sex ed, they'll be misinformed and put themselves at risk. I think our future is worth it.
