Plain old "office manager" with zero experience chosen to head the C.I.A.

Did you actually read the article, or is your reading comprehension just that poor?

It says:
Panetta was director of the Office of Management and Budget and a longtime congressman from California.

He served on the Iraq Study Group, a bipartisan panel that released a report at the end of 2006 with dozens of recommendations for the reversing course in the Iraq war.

Panetta currently directs with his wife Sylvia the Leon & Sylvia Panetta Institute for Public Policy, based at California State University, Monterey Bay a university he helped establish on the site of the former U.S. Army base, Fort Ord.

Director of the OMB and an Institute for Public Policy, being on the Iraq Study Group, helping to establish a university and serving as a White House chief of staff does not a "Plain old 'office manager' with zero experience" make.

I don't know if he'll lead the CIA well or not, but the experience section of his resume is certainly not blank, and I'm not going to paint myself a fool by throwing around reactionary hyperbole.

Sandra Day O'Conner was in the Iraq Study Group, BFD!

and yes, Panetta is a NOTHING!

No wonder Biden was warning us about a major incident happening. He may turn out to be the only halfway smart one in the administration. Where has he been, by the way?

be aware of FACTS yourself

You may think this CLOWN is ready to protect us,

BUT NO SANE PERSON DOES!

"no experience in the intelligence world," said the article.

That doesn't raise a red flag to the Obama Koolaid crowd?

I'm sorry people but this is just plain scary, like hiring a security guard as chief of police for New York city

What do you mean, "zero experience"? There's never been any requirement that the head of the CIA be a former spy. George H.W. Bush was an ex-Congressman and party functionary--hey, just like Panetta!

It's going to be a long 4 years if you guys can't pick your spots a little better than this.

You think the Cold War was a lesser deal than our situation today? The USSR less of a problem than al-Qaeda? Hmmmm.

Keep in mind also that since 9/11, the CIA director is outranked by the Director of National Intelligence. Obama's choice for that is Adm. Dennis Blair, former head of Pacific Command.

Given the performance of the agency as of late, I'm pleased than an outsider is being brought in. Panetta was a terrific White House Chief of Staff. Clinton did much better there than with his CIA directors--Woolsey and Tenet had to be two of his worst appointments.

So that makes it OK for Panetta to lead the CIA? Yes, it's gonna be a long and miserable 4 years indeed.

Panetta's inexperience is OK, but Palin's isn't. ;)

what were george h.w. bush's qualifications when he was appointed?
