ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Gov. Sarah Palin's home church was badly damaged by arson, leading the governor to apologize if the fire was connected to "undeserved negative attention" from her failed campaign as the Republican vice presidential nominee.

Damage to the Wasilla Bible Church was estimated at $1 million, authorities said Saturday. No one was injured in the fire, which was set Friday night while a handful of people, including two children, were inside, according to Central Mat-Su Fire Chief James Steele.

Destructive acts serve no one.

While Palin provoked extreme reactions on both sides, the arson may have had nothing to do with her. As far as churches go, I would venture to say that the pentecostals/evangelicals attract more whackjobs than most--the Catholic priesthood notwithstanding.

Bristol Palin's baby-grandmother, Sherry Johnston, busted on drug charges

The arrest of Sherry Johnston comes as her son, Levi Johnston, and his girlfriend, Bristol Palin, are expected the imminent birth of their child.

Bristol Palin's soon-to-be-born son has two grandmothers in the news: One almost became vice president, and the other was just busted by cops on drug charges.

Sherry Johnston, 42, was slapped with six felony drug counts Thursday following a lengthy undercover state police investigation.

Her son, Levi Johnston, 18, is having a child with 18-year-old Bristol Palin - the daughter of former GOP veep pick and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

Sherry Johnston was released from jail on $5,000 bail. Cops refused to detail the type of drugs involved, or the amount.

The Anchorage Daily News carried a statement from Palin spokesman Bill McAllister, who tersely emailed: "This is not a state government matter. Therefore the governor's communications staff will not be providing comment or scheduling interview opportunities."

Does anyone besides that reporter believe that Sarah Palin "almost became Vice President"?

Right. Her lousy fifteen minutes is ceremoniously over. Let the coffin fuckin' close. Goodbye.

EXCLUSIVE Interview With Sarah Palin

http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=29994
GIZZI: What was the biggest mistake made in the ’08 campaign?

PALIN: The biggest mistake made was that I could have called more shots on this: the opportunities that were not seized to speak to more Americans via media. I was not allowed to do very many interviews, and the interviews that I did were not necessarily those I would have chosen. But I was so thankful to have the opportunity to run with John McCain that I was not going to argue with the strategy decisions that some of his people were making regarding the media contacts?

But if I would have been in charge, I would have wanted to speak to more reporters because that’s how you get your message out to the electorate.

GIZZI: And what was the most important lesson you learned from the campaign?

PALIN: The campaign was 99.9% amazing and invigorating and inspiring. But looking back, there were so many things that were outside of my control. I was in a campaign in which I did not know the people individually running the campaign. So I had to put my life, my career, my family, and my reputation in their hands. That’s kind of a scary thing to do when you don’t know the people you are working with.

Now I have all the faith in the world in Sen. McCain and his family. But some of the folks around him I did not know and so it was a kind of a risky thing for me to put my faith in the decisions they were making on my behalf.

As an administrator, as a chief executive of a state, I am not used to that. I am used to proving my abilities by calling the shots. Then I know the buck stops with me. I made the decisions, and I’m responsible. When others are making decisions for me, as they were in the campaign, and I am the one to live with the fallout from the decisions that were made on my behalf, that is something I am not very comfortable with.

GIZZI: Do you want to give me any names of people?

PALIN: No.
Oh yes, if only she could have run her own campaign. She would have been so much better off.

I bet she set fir herself just to garner sympathy for herself:mad:

gee, Insert Muslim in there and you fools would scream RACIST IGNORANT and all sorts of other shit:mad:

Unlikely many would, as they've become used to you spewing all sorts of racist shit. Many ignore you and simply have written you off for the bigoted kook you are.

I'm close to just tossing you onto permanent ignore myself. You add noting new to any thread you participate in, just more hate, more fear-mongering, more stupidity, more half truths and outright lies.

But I see it as a public service, if nobody refutes your garbage then any new members may take silence as acceptance.
