So, I am reading the book by Jean Sasson describing Saddam's torture and brutal treatment of political prisoners and, you know, it really didn't move me much, seeing as that's what it takes to keep "those" people under control...
But then, I got to the part where he put Dr. Fadil on a leash and collar and paraded him around his tribe like a dog confessing his crimes against the state and I became outraged that he would resort to such horrible shaming of an Iraqi man. Now I understand why he needed to be removed!
In his behalf, he did at leadt execute the good Doctor shortly after so he didn't have to live with his shame, which, would have been unbearable...
