pal

we had our Pal in the desert
we prayed to Him
we were scolding Him
we were not His
chosen people
we were His only ones

you had your own Gods
and you and you and you
but you liked our guy
and He liked you such a tease

once He got promoted
you
in His name
persecute us

Hey!

Someone elsewhere claimed that my poem is void of images. I said that on the contrary, and was challenged to point to them. Old regulars here know that I don't bluff, I don't BS (at least Rybka knew black in white). I gave my answer over there. In the case of the given poem there is an uncommon angle to this issue, a part of the general view on poetry. Here, let me leave all this for some of you to ponder.

poems void of 'concrete images', perhaps?

certainly not void of images... your writing creates images... they may not be the images you wish to portray, but your words make the reader conjure their own images.

just my opinion :)
