I find that amazing. And it's going to get worse.

"There is no light at the end of the tunnel, and the outlook is pitch black," said Richard Yamarone, economist at Argus Research.

And Bernard Baumohl, chief global economist at the Economic Outlook Group, said the report "depicts an economy still in free fall and without a safety net anywhere in sight."

All the economy's woes — a housing collapse, mounting foreclosures, hard-to-get credit and financial market upheaval — will confront Obama when he assumes office in January. Unemployment is expected to keep rising during his first year in office, while record budget deficits will crimp his domestic agenda.

its gonna get awful, but we've spared the bankers and soon the GM executives

Yeah...take it from one of the 10.1 million who used to work for one of those banks...the job market sucks and I can't see it getting any better!

I guess this means there'll be a lot more people hanging around at Lit.

Well that's the thing about economies it doesn't actually care about people, it's just a description of the way things are, which is why 'economists' should keep their noses out.

GAUCHE

No. It means too many shitwits are riding in the wagon and too few are pulling the wagon.

Having been unemployed before, it's no fun. Especially with the INS wanting to know when you'll get work, and knowing that if you don't soon, you'll be deported.

My current job is no gem, but I'm holding onto it like grim death.

Well, we've managed a bloodless regime change, hopefully the system will work, it has before.

Yes, a great thing about democracy. When it works as it should, the ruling party turns power over to the new regime peacefully. No coup attempts or such. Let's hope that the GOP doesn't get silly ideas.

I don't think they will. From what I've seen they're currently too busy beating on one another to focus on a coup.

ROB doesnt get political coups. The Republican Party is being purged of its moderates and will ideologically purer in 4 years.

After 1964 the Rockefeller liberals were purged from the party and Nixon won in 1968. After Ford's defeat in 1976 the Romney moderates were purged from the party and Reagan was elected in 1980. The party was purged again in 1992 and controlled Congress by 1994.

A Reagan or Teddy Roosevelt will come along in 2012, maybe 2010 if Obama and Pelosi over-reach.

If they want to pay me for masturbating they'd better pay more than the sperm bank. :D
