I recently put up a new story called "Quiet Time" It's a simple erotic coupling with detailed background. So far, I am getting high stars, but i only received one anonymous comment. Is more people not leaving comments nowadays, or do they just vote and move on. I'm aware of the sweeping for trolls and uberfans, but i thought I would have gotten more written replies. Not to sound like I'm stroking my ego, but I would like to know whether I'm improving in my skills towards becoming a better author and want aspect of my writing could I improve on. has anyone else been getting votes with little comment?

I would only get about 5 messages total for each chapter of my most recent story. I don't know how many votes you need to get before you have the "average" number, though.

I don't think it's anything to stress over. So people aren't commenting. Is that really anything to fret about? Does it mean you're a good writer, and they have nothing to complain about? Does it mean you're a bad writer, and they've given up on trying to fix things? What if you were to get the statistics from Laurel or Manu and find out that you actually are sub-standard?

Don't stress about it. If the story pleases you, it's done its job. =)

I am the same, if I get five messages, public and/or private I am doing really well. I have only started posting here though so I am probably not a good indicator.

Kromen I read it

I liked it. As you said, it is a simple story. The kind that makes real life seem erotic.

My only problem with it was trying to figure out what positions they were in in the tub. Must have been a big tub?

I read it yesterday and think I gave you a 4, (it's hell getting old).

It is not a stroker more an "Ahhh sweet."

I liked the characters and felt they were "real'.:)

Whether or not you get many comments depends on a few factors, I've noticed. First of all, the readers of some categories just don't tend to comment. Good categories for comments are 'Loving Wives' (but wear a hard hat if you submit there :)) and to a lesser extent, 'Romance'. I see that most of your postings are to 'Erotic Couplings' - not so many readers comment there.

Secondly, it takes a little while to get 'known' around here. Again, looking at your submissions page, you've been around since 2005 - but in that time you've only written 5 submissions (I say 'only', but I promise you, I do know how hard it is to write just one submission, let alone 5 :D). If you write more - and over a shorter space of time, you'll find that you develop a bit more of a following. People will start looking for your stories. I've noticed too that if you submit a longer work in chapters you start to get more attention as the story progresses.

Hmm, what else? You're probably already doing this, but if someone's left a comment and it's not anonymous (sadly so many of them are!), be sure to write back and say thank you. That person will definitely keep a look out for more stories by you then.

I would like to know whether I'm improving in my skills towards becoming a better author and want aspect of my writing could I improve on.

Not sure if you've already done this, but leave a post here on this forum asking for feedback on a particular story. It might take a day or two, but folks will generally take the time to comment, especially if you're specific about the areas you'd like feedback for.

Hope this helps.

lol...

Just the opposite. Lots of comments, few votes

Go figure.

I asked for ICE!

I liked the story. I usualy don't care for BSDM much, but then this was a "Spoiled Princess" and she got what was coming to her, so a happy ending.

Many Lit authors would have had her on her knees at the end finding her sub side now she had found her master.

I applaud your restraint.:D

I gave you a 4 and expect that many will too.

There were a few times I felt a odd glitch in the narritive but only a few.
BRAVA!
