That said, this "halt or I'll expose you" strategy is risky to execute well.
If you wanted to expose them, you would have done so already, so there's a reason you don't want to. Loss of leverage, fear of more retribution, whatever.
If I think that, what's to keep them from thinking similarly? Why should they change their behavior because of this threat, that may just be empty?
In my case, I worked with the phone company and the police, and was able to determine who it was (the mother of an old girlfriend). But I think you already know who it is, yes?
