Help! How can I make my AV file fit? - problem solved, crisis averted

Ok... So I've been trying to figure this out all day! I want to upload a pic for my avatar, but I just can't figure out how to get it small enough to be allowed under the 150x150 pixels or 15KB rule set by Lit. Even when I reduce the image to 99x99 pixels I'm still over 18KB. I am extremely frustrated! If I make the image any smaller, no one will be able to see it anyway.

I have tried researching this and have just gotten more confused. If anyone can walk me through it (simply), please let me know. I appreciate any help that anyone might offer.

It depends on the software you are saving it with. size it to 150 x 150 then save it at a low quality, which will reduce the file size. If you have problems pm me, I can do it for you

Use Irfanview..there are plenty of options to resize your picture.
