Captain Awful - IC

She did, in fact have a place that the two of them could stay at, and Casey took William over there now. Sadly, it was a tiny apartment, even smaller than the one they had just been forced out of. There was a single main room, with a counter to seperate the living area from a kitchen. Through one door was a bathroom, and through another was a cramped bedroom where ever inch of wall space was covered with pictures of assorted heroes, heroines, villains, and villainesses printed from the internet; she was obsessed, she could admit that.

She went into the bedroom and left Will to his own devices for the moment, unzipping as she went. "Make yourself at home, since I guess that's what this is for now. Just one ground rule: As you might notice, there's no bedroom door, and I..." She stopped short of saying she can't afford to replace it. The man lost his 'hideout', no point hurting his pride. "...Uh, I haven't got around to fixing it. So keep your eyes to yourself."
That said, she made no effort to stay out of sight as she slipped out of her bodysuit, and took her time picking out civilian clothes, all the while attired in only some black lace panties and matching bra, aware she very well might be being watched. Most times she hated that kind of attention, but...something about super-types just worked for her, good or evil, man or woman. She did draw the line at humanized animals though, like the so-called Awesome Ape who worked out in the Seattle area. She may have a super fetish, but she wasn't that kinky and/or hard up.

Eventually she re-emerged into the living room in jeans and a blouse (the top half of the buttons open, she could never manage to get those to close) and the high heeled boots from her costume; those she found stylish and rather liked to wear in normal circumstances. Dropping onto the couch, she sighed another of her deep sighs. She was doing that so often today.

"Alright, my advice? We skip banks and such for a bit and we go steal you an RV. I'm thinkin' a mobile hideout would score you some reputation points towards the Triple V."

They arrived in under a minute "Yes of course i am" she straddled the bike taking off her helmet. she could have said that she was also a women and not a man. but she did not feel like stating the obvious thing about her being a superhero. "do you need any help" she asked her having no place to go and her bike out of jet fuel.

"No, not really..." Katie said as she got off the bike. "Thanks for the ride and um...good luck finding a side kick." She gave a small shrug and started to walk up the stairs to her apartment building.

Will bit his bottom lip when the girl mentioned that she didn't have a bedroom door and then spoke about how she didn't want him to peek. This seemed odd and different since she had seemed almost too eager to have him look at her before. It was like now she was worried that he might pay too much attention to her or something. He sighed softly and took off the blast goggles, putting them on a table. He just...he wasn't even sure what he was going to do anymore. He just sighed softly and looked over his shoulder briefly, catching a glimpse of skin. He wasn't going to admit to any of it. She wouldn't be happy with him if she knew that he had taken a look.

He sighed softly and waited for her to figure everything out. He waited patiently until she was done with all of the changing and then looked over to her. He had made a decision. He sighed and walked over to her, looking at her carefully. He had made his decision, "Alright. We can worry about that later." He bit his bottom lip as he looked into her eyes for a few more moments and then spoke up softly, "I am curious over something, and I hope you will indulge me in this experiment." He looked into her eyes and then leaned forward, "I need to find out what Athena felt back there." And from there his lips pressed against Casey's. He had to do this. He had to figure out just what it was Athena had felt, and he had to find out later if he really was better or something. He needed to know and he wasn't even sure why.

This was an entirely unexpected shock to Casey, but truthfully, not an unpleasent one. After the initial surprise passed, she held onto Will and returned his kiss with just as much passion as she had given to Athena. She even went so far as to push this kiss to an entire minute before she stepped out of it.

With a wicked, mischeivious smirk, she considered the look on his face. "I'm not sure what this experiment proved for you, or how Athena felt earlier with the kiss she got. But as for me, they both got my heart pulsing a bit quicker. See?"

Taking Will's hand, she pressed it to the left side of her chest, unsure if he could actually feel a heartbeat through her breast or not. What she was sure of, however, was that she'd seen him give her body the once over at least twice a day since they met face to face, and though she was in a mood to... reward? torment? she didn't know...him for all those looks.

Will had enjoyed the kiss, and when it finally broke he was left a little bit breathless. When the girl mentioned that it had gotten her heart pounding, he smiled softly. It was good to know that what he was doing something for her. He smiled softly, feeling the nice ego stroking. When she took a hold of his hand he had been a bit surprised though, and when she had brought it up, pressing his palm against her breast he almost let out a little gasp. This was so much more than he had been prepared for. He smiled as he looked at her for a few more moments and then gently, very gently he gave the girl's breast a slight squeeze. He looked at her carefully and then continued to gently squeeze at the girl's breast. He wasn't sure what he was going to do now. He smiled softly. He wasn't sure what he should do now.

He looked up into the girl's eyes and then spoke so very softly, "We should be careful with all of this, Casey..." He bit his bottom lip as he looked into her eyes for a few more moments, "If we continue like this then we might decide that I don't need to find a new place after all, and if we decide that...well..." He gave her breast another soft squeeze, "I might lose focus all of the time, thinking about all of the things that we could be doing...it just might interfere with out work..." He shook his head as he looked at her carefully and then brought his hand up and traced his fingers through his hair. He then brought his hand other hand up, taking a hold of the other breast. He smiled softly as he looked into her eyes, "Never mind. We are never successful at work anyway. I guess there is no downside to us doing it."

Casey couldn't help a gasp of her own when he squeezed, and bit back a tiny groan with each one there after. The hand running through her hair was even better, and made her smile to him more genuinely.

"Trust me...we do need to find you someplace else. Not that I mind having a house guest, but I'm kinda lacking in space to put you. And there's no room for you to do your work. AND, they have a security deposit, so I can't risk my apartment being blown wide open right now. As for our working relationship, I think it can survive a little playfulness such as this now and again. Beyond that..." Here she lightly removed his hand from her chest.

"Maybe that can wait to be celebration when we're VVV?"

He looked at her carefully, still smiling gently. He knew that what she was saying was right. Even if he was against it. Even if he wanted to take this girl to the bedroom and finish everything right now. He sighed softly and bowed his head to the girl. He brought his hand up and traced his fingers through his hair. He watched her carefully for a few moments and then pressed himself back, sitting down on the ground. He looked up at the girl for a few moments and then simply bowed his head to her, "You're absolutely right." He smiled softly as he looked at her. He had just been stupid. Sure Casey was emotional and switched from one point of view to a different thing. He smiled softly as he looked at her carefully. He didn't know what he could say to the girl now. He simply bit his bottom lip and watched her carefully. He didn't know what he was going to say anymore. He looked at her carefully.

He simply nodded to her, "I'm sorry. I should have been different there...I don't know. I'm sorry..." He looked at her carefully. He didn't know what he wanted to do. He brought his hand up and brushed his fingers through his hair. He simply nodded and then pushed himself up, "I...um...yeah..." He smiled weakly and pointed to the bathroom, "I think I need to use your bathroom for a bit..."

Casey watched as Will left the room, and frowned. She hadn't wanted to hurt him, and certainly she had enjoyed the kiss with the subsequent fondling. But, going any further would be too risky, too much potential for damage to their partnership. She decided o let him have some time, ten appologize later.

For now, she headed back into the bedroom and turned on her internet connection. As usual, there was a pile of porn waiting for her in the email. After a quick check there was nothing real hidden in all the junk mail, she deleted it all. She galnced over one shoulder to be sure Will wasn't back in the living room where he could see her...he wasn't...so she hurried to open up one of her few secret shames; A listing of seeral dozen super hero fan sites. Athena was near the top of course, being among the As, and it was that site she went to now, clicking the button to send a message to Athena herself, and began to chew her lip as she typed.

>Hello. I don't know if you'll see this in with all the mail you must get from
>your fans, but in case you do...this is Mental Casey. I felt the need to write
>to say an additinal "Wow" about that kiss I stole earlier. One of the rare
>times I was successful at stealing. I'm not ready to switch teams and be
>your sidekick (though the offer was a nice surprise), but I do hope our
>paths cross again soon, so I might steal another. Mabe next time I'll even
>make a grab for your chest, since you really do have a fine set of breasts.
>And I for one should know good ones when I see them *wink*

She sent off the email, feeling a shiver of pleasure run down her spine as she remembered that kiss. Casey hoped that she had left an equal impression on the beautiful heroine. Rising from her desk, she went back out to sit on the couch, booted feet resting onher small coffee table, and waited for Will.

You have mail you have mail she stood over the table sized computer and hit the mail icon. It was from someone called Mental Casey she shrugged her shoulder who the hell was that. A double click brought up the mail a picture would have helped but she quickly began to read it. The message mad her flush so she though, well she would have to meet again and correct her.

- I am flattered you remember that small kiss
- I found myself wishing that we could have
- spent more time but we are all cogs in the
- machine can we meet perhaps at the
-observatory no one will look for us there
- or think anything of it

She closed down the computer and went off to bed the alarm would wake her if she got a message or a crime occurred. She laughed good and evil trying to hook up the others would die of laughter. She stripped her cloths and climbed into bed her body warm thinking about meeting the woman again. Was it wrong she was evil she worked for an evil man but was so cute.

The Plot Thickens! (*dramatic organ music in the background)

Casey heard her own computer announcing the well known "You've got mail!" and went to check it out, expecting more spam. It was a welcome surprise to her that it was a reply back from Athena, and she smiled as she wrote back to it.

>Of course I remembered, you're pretty hard to forget. I'd love to meet up
>with you, and the observatory sounds like a good choice, but it'll have to be
>tomorrow at the earliest. After todays events, Capt. Awful is bunking out on
>my couch and I'm not sure how I'd explain to him that I was going out in
>costume without him...sorry :* (
>Meanwhile, I hope this will hold you over until we meet face to face...enjoy ;)

Turning on her camera, Casey slipped back into her bodysuit, unzipped to her waist, and took a shot sitting on the edge of her bed with a smile on her face, a wink to her eye, and a valley of cleavage on display. With a nervous blush, she attached this to the email and sent it off.

Feeling wicked even by villian standards, she couldn't resist giving herself a few gentle rubs before getting back into her blouse and jeans. Last, she moved all her print outs of Athena from various spots around her room, and put them all in a placeof honor directly above her bed.

She woke up the next day the armor she wore as a uniform had to be polished by guess who. that’s right she had to do it herself she had mail the armor polish was in her hand as she checked her mail. It was from her again she was accepting her invitation she felt flushed. She had to respond this would be odd but there was so many things that they could do.

-meet me at 12 at night so that we can talk maybe more
-I know have had are differences but that was work
-I will be waiting under the big telescope with some
-vodka and chocolate cant wit to drink it off you taught body

Just then the picture came up it was so hot she found her hand wandering over her body lower and. She had to finish get ready for the meeting they would have not put of what you could do today for tomorrow.

-we already know each other so it wont be hard to find
- me till then here is a picture of me its only fair

She leaned back slipping the armor chest plate down to expose the top of her breast then leaned over. She winked into the camera feeling a little dirty for a hero and found she desperately needed a shower. God was she really doing this to or for her she thought as she left to do some publicity shots.

Casey woke up the next morning, and gave a long stretch before rolling out from under her blanket. She'd slept in nothing but her panties and an old tanktop that was a bit too small. She hadn't worn it since she didn't know when, but with a guest around the small apartment, her nights of topless slumber were on temporary hold.

Sitting at her computer, she was delighted to learn that Athena seemed as axious for the meeting as she was herself...that bit about the vodka was especially nice. Then she saw the picture that came with it and could only sit and stare for a long moment. Saving the file...it would probably end up as her new desktop...she poked around for a while online.

She groaned in misery to discover that at least one jackass had YouTubed them yesterday at the bank. They even went so far as to add in cartoon sound effects at key moments, the song "The Merry-Go-Round has Broken Down" playing through the background, all leading to the inevitable "wa-wa-wa-WAAAA!" as they left in shame, Mental Casey slung over Capt. Awful's shoulder.

Then she noticed the related videos area. At the top was video of the latest bank job that guy Flat Note had pulled off. She clicked it open.

A normal, slow day at a generic looking bank, until the doubles doors are flung wide by a forehead high kick by F.N. himself; not too shabby for a guy to do. He waved a large gun over his head as he strutted towards the counter.

"ONE...robbery in progress, everybody hit the floor!
ONE...thrilling little handgun, no one moves for the door!
Just try and suddenly I'll have to shoot...your...ass!
So lets just open that vault, and give me...the...cash!"

The customers did as told, the guard filled a bag with proper haste, and Flat Note walked calmly out the front, bowwing and blowing kisses as he went. And damn if everyone didn't get up and clap as he did so. Casey was disgusted that someone who was such a monumental joke was still better at the villiany game then her and Will combined.

When she noticed a new article saying Broadway was openning a new play that fall season, "Flat Note: The Musical", she scowled and clicked offline. The day wasn't looking like it would go particularly well, again.

But the night...oh, the night was going to be one for the ages. The thought brought her smile back in full force as she went about searching for breakfast.

Athena saw another invitation from demolition to join him in the Justice Brigade a group of powerful superheroes. The only problem was she would have to be Demolitions Side kick Explosion Girl. She surfed through recent event flat note had pulled off another caper and was flaunting his success.

The mad scientist had discovered a new element he named explodium the first shipment would be used to stop a rogue chunk of the hail bop comet heading for earth. The stuff was insane just add water and you have the power of a small nuke in you’re hands. Hundred had already been killed making the stuff.

The phone then rang “No Demo I don’t want to join“ she wanted to throw up her hands and scream leave me alone you nitro head. “I don‘t car if you have the cover of Hero weekly“ she tried to hang up the phone but if she did he would just come over assuming she was in dire peril.

I am a super hero to dam it “Fine tomorrow yes I know my qualification is due“ she hung up the phone after agreeing to a dinner as well. She then finished polishing her armor and left for the observatory. It was on the peek of a tall hill over looking the crater that was all that was left of Boy Nitro.

She arrived on her bike killing what was left of the grass before she adjusted her breast plate and entered. Despite what the news feed said the place filled with robots that hummed around. She sat down just below the telescope in a chair and kicked back she had an hour to go.

“So Demolition when will you announce you’re new side kick it has been more then a year since Boy Nitro saved the city from the Mole Men“. bull crap demolition let him die rather then negotiate with the mole men. All he would have had to do is marry the mole princes a very pale girl raised by the mole men.

“my new partner is black power girl” her mouth fell open “formerly Athena she will be taking over as” she could no longer hear him speaking as she saw the almost non existent costume.

William Power had done his very best to sleep on the couch. Unfortunately, the couch was not the best place for sleeping, so as a result, when he finally did wake up the next morning it was to a body that groaned and argued with every movement that he made. He slowly pushed himself into a sitting position and looked down at the floor, thinking about his sleep, and how everything that his henchwoman had said had been exactly correct. He really couldn't stay here like this. If he did then he was going to be getting this kind of sleep every night. It was a sleep on an uncomfortable couch that was tormented by sweet dreams of the girl in her skintight suit. That was the other reason that he couldn't stay here. Things were going to grow more awkward and strained between the two of them the longer he stayed here. It wouldn't take too much longer until he decided that they should share another kiss, and from there he was likely to decide to make another attempt at trying to woo her into something more than that. After that she'd turn him down again, and he'd once again spend an evening in the bathroom with his trusty right hand. He frowned softly and looked down at the floor. How pitiful was he? He was a 'super' villain with no super powers, who couldn't accomplish even the smallest of tasks like robbing a bank, and he couldn't even get romantic attention from his henchwoman. He was sure that if he were to check the encyclopedia for the words 'loser' or 'lame' that he would find a picture of himself with that stupid smile on his face.

Perhaps this life of a villain wasn't for him. This had actually been the first time that he had seriously thought about hanging up his villain attire ever. While he wasn't all that smart as a villain, William wasn't stupid enough to miss the writing on the wall. Before Athena had chased them down to his headquarters, Casey had been almost too excited to show him a little bit of skin and entice him to get closer to her, but after the show he had made about saying it was really all her choice, and then she had shared that kiss with Athena. Ever since that had happened she had been keeping her distance from him, and while if he was optimistic to a fault he could have believed it was because he was a guest in her house and this had gotten a bit closer than she had really thought it would be, there was that awful sting of reality that kept getting him that said that there was something about the events of the day that had just passed that had led their relationship to where they were now. Casey wasn't interested in him because she, like every other woman in his life, had found something more interesting, more successful at what they did, and generally more attractive than William Power, or Captain Awful could ever be. He closed his eyes for a few moments. What was he going to do? Soon enough Casey would discover that she would be more successful without him, and then she'd come to the realization that she would be even more successful if she were to join forced with a hero like Athena. She'd get the things that she had always been looking for, like fame, and a spot close to someone who was actually super.

This was a sad reality, but it seemed to be the kind of reality that the man who had called himself a genius couldn't escape. No amount of gadgets were going to help him out of this. He doubted that even a time machine would be able to help him fix what had happened. He bit his bottom lip gently as he thought about it. Perhaps what he needed to do was to go on a little heist of his own to prove that he had potential as a villain. If he did that he could prove to everyone that he was more than they thought he was. If he could manage to pull off even the smallest of heists he could say to everyone that he wasn't such a failure and that he was really much smarter and greater than everyone said he was. He took a long breath as he thought about it and then simply shook his head. It wasn't likely though. All of the power that he could actually use was in the hands of that psychic girl, Mental Casey. Without her, he was sure that he would have just been kicked to death by that random bystander. Without Casey he was just setting himself up to be kicked to death by a random bystander who knew just how much he sucked at everything. What made it worse was the fact that there seemed to be nothing that he could do that would win over Casey again.

Even standing up tall and strong when he knew that he had a zero chance of winning hadn't brought the psychic girl any closer. Running a heist without her would reach the same level, he was sure. She would see him going out in costume and think that he had decided that he didn't need her or something and from there she would have the fuel she needed to get away from him. Even if he was successful, an incredibly unlikely scenario, she would say that he didn't need her if he could pull off her own heists. When he failed horribly, which was the other scenario, he was sure that Casey would see that she was the only thing holding him up, and after that, the game would be over because she'd leave him and tell him what a pathetic and useless villain he really was.

It wasn't much longer before Casey arrived at the observatory as well, having to stop at the foot of the hill and take the rest of foot. Her fourth-hand VW Beetle was barely surviving flat roads these days, and the idea of trying to coax it into driving up that hill was a joke. She gave it a sharp kick out of spite, then cursed herself as the front license plate dropped off. Casey just shook her head and started walking.

She had worn her costume for the...the what exactly? Meeting didn't sound like the right word, after their exchange of pictures. But then again, could she go so far as to call it a date? She shrugged to herself, and dcided to think of this as their 'encounter'. She did skip the mask however; this woman had come within a half inch of seeing her exposed breasts last night, she could damn sure see Casey's face.

When she reached the top of the hill and stepped into the observatory, she was stunned to find someone else there already, talking with Athena about making her his sidekick. For Athena's part, she didn't look all that thrilled by the prospect. After a moment of looking at the man, Casey managed to identify him, even with his back to her. Demolition, from the Justice Brigade, known for often inflicting as much or more property damage than the vilians he brought down.

With a display of a great deal more confidence than she actually felt, she walked past Demo and stood at Athena's side, striking a classic legs apart/hands on hips pose. Chest extended, naturally.

"Athena can't become your sidekick. She...she's already a full fledged hero herself, and...OH! And I've just today agreed that I would be her sidekick, the...the...Mental Mistress. And sidekicks don't have sidekicks, so she can't be yours...right?"

Casey winced on the inside. Her spur of the moment idea, let's face it, sucked. Her choice of hero name made on the spot, sucked. Yet, she had felt an impulse to step in and at least make an effort to protect Athena. At which point it occured to her that, should Athena have wanted to become a sidekick, Casey had just utterly shot the chances of that to Hell.

She had another inner wince, and waited for seemingly endless seconds to find out what would come of this.

Demolition had been trying to get her to wear the costume that had two cartoon like bombs to cover her breast. “No way in hell I mean what do I look like a pin up girl” she was infuriated by the fact he thought she would be proud to accept a demotion to work with him. “Pick up you’re bombs and leave“ she tried to push him away but he was a huge man in many way. He was not smart or charming but he was strong and stubborn as a bull.

Athena watched Mental move in front of Demolition man who was so shocked he had yet to close his mouth. “You with her Athena I should have known you were that way” he teased her leaving the two women alone. It was a shock did she just declare that she wanted to work with her. That she was leaving evil for good she could not let her do that Awful would just have a stroke. Not that that would be a bad thing Awful had just made her into a living punch line.

“Sorry about that we used to date” she had not wanted to tell anyone it was in her past she had been a young teen. Discovering her powers demolition had taken her under his wing then into his bed. The relationship had lasted as long as it took for her to become a full fledged hero. “He we well he was a different man before he made it big“ Demolition was also and action hero and stunt man.

“Now to getting drunk and forgetting rash promises“. she liked Mental too much to let her throw away her career. Being good was a lot of work with the law suits and the constant government work. If she had her way she would have joined evil long ago instead of becoming good. Only both her parents had been good giving her no chance to choose right or wrong.

William Power, also known as Captain Awful, had quickly become bored with the idea of sitting around and doing nothing in Casey's house. He had as a result, decided to watch TV, since of course, he couldn't start work on anything like his usual gadgets in a house like this. He had turned on the television to an interview that was going on with one of Awful's favorite heroes, Demolition, who tended to cause more collateral damage than any villain could ever hope for. It usually made it easier for the villain to escape if he had any brains thanks to the fact that all of the damage and destruction prevented the police from following. The mention of Athena becoming a sidekick made William smile. Well, sidekicks didn't have sidekicks, which meant that he was now safe to relax a little bit, knowing that Casey wasn't going to be swept up by some tramp super hero. He leaned back in the couch, chuckling a little bit and then suddenly the camera had panned over and all of those dreams had been shattered when the frame was filled with none other than Mental Casey saying things that justified every fear that William had.

He stared at the screen for a few more moments and then let out a soft groan, "Jesus fucking Christ..."

He looked over his shoulder. Well...it looked like everything had gone horribly wrong somehow. Not only had he failed to get any closer to his henchwoman, he had been helpless to do anything to stop her from becoming a superhero sidekick. This meant so many bad things. The first was that he wasn't going to have any chance of getting closer to her. The second was that he now had to move. There was no longer a choice in the matter. He was beginning to understand why she had pressured him so much to get out. He brought his hand up and pressed his face into his palm, once again muttering profanities and taking the names of deities in vain. He couldn't believe this was happening. He pushed himself up and headed off to the fridge where he found a notepad and a pen. He looked at the notepad for a long moment. He had to go, but he had to tell her why, didn't he? He sighed softly and thought about it carefully, and then decided to write.

Casey.

Congratulations on your new
profession. I'm sure you'll have
far more luck as a sidekick than
you did as a henchwoman. You
didn't need to pretend that you
wanted me around, you know.

Since you're on the other side
now I suppose I can't stay here.
It wouldn't be good for your
new sidekick image, and I
wouldn't want to tarnish that.

I guess now that you're a
sidekick...you'll catch me later
or something. Heh, get it?

Cpt. Awful.

He looked at his little letter that had ended up taking up two pages on her notepad and then sighed softly. Even though he had been able to make witty and clever comments in the letter, he felt like someone had just used a super power to punch him in the chest. This wasn't cool, and it wasn't right, and he definitely didn't like the way that any of it was going. He closed his eyes and then pulled his blast goggles on over his eyes to make sure that no one would notice if he did start crying. Well...now the only thing that was left to do was to head out and try to do things on his own...without any of his gadgets...or a home base to return to when he was done...oh...yay. He drooped and pushed through the door, closing it behind him, his body hunching slightly as he made his way out to the street.

“Now to getting drunk and forgetting rash promises“.

Casey was all for that idea...the drinking might help kill the akward embarassment she felt after her little display there. Why did I do that anyway? She didn't ask me to help, and probably wouldn't need help from anyone anyway. Well...too late now.

"Yeah, sounds like a good idea. I've been looking forward to that vodka you mentioned in your email all day."

She looked around for a chair of her own, but eventually settled for sitting at Athena's side with her legs tucked under herself. It was nice in the dimly lit room, and despite feeling bad about going behind Captain Awful's back, she was glad she had done this. Unless this turned out to be a trick, and Athena was going to bring her in. But on the other hand...maybe being cuffed wouldn't be too terrible.

Turning a light pink at the thought, she rested her head against the other woman's leg. "So what happened with you and Demolition to end things? Not that it's my business, but..." She paused, working up nerve, and finished in a slightly lower tone. "I just want to know what to avoid doing myself."

"So what happened with you and Demolition to end things? Not that it's my business, but..." She became aware of he hand on her leg it felt nice like it belonged there. "I just want to know what to avoid doing myself." That did not take much time to explain why she left him. He was a demon in sack but when it came to any other things he was a grade a moron.

“well lets say he finished first always and sometime I never did at all“ she blushed they had used each other. Most of her powers were gifted to her after she joined but that was another matter. “Anyways why you fucking a pig“ a Russian saying meaning why are you not drinking yet. She poured each of them a glass placing her hand on the henchwoman’s shoulder.

"enough about the past to the future" she leaned forward and kissd casey on the lips it was sweet an bitter.

The way things had been going recently had not been at all like William had thought that they had been going. He had never thought that a bunch of superheroes were going to trash his headquarters and home...there were rules against that sort of thing, weren't there? He had never thought that he would be left without any of his gadgets. He had never thought that a trampy superheroine was going to decide she wanted his henchwoman as her sidekick, and he definitely had never expected Mental Casey to be able to pull off a super change and become a sidekick over night. He had never thought that he was going to end up with nowhere to turn but here...

He was standing on the sidewalk in front of a little house with a white picket fence forming a line between where the sidewalk ended and where the front lawn began. There were quite a few little gardens and flowers that were growing here and there. William took note of this and sighed softly, glad that he had stopped at a civilian clothes store so that he didn't look so out of place, and didn't stand out nearly as much. He still had his costume (a white lab coat with built in elbow pads, a dark T-shirt with the words 'Awe Full' in big words on the front, a pair of gray pants that had knee bads sewn into them similar to the lab coat, the pair of black Kevlar gloves, and of course his trademark blast goggles) in a backpack that he was carrying over his shoulders. Right now he was in a simple white t-shirt and a pair of dark slacks, and didn't look anywhere near as imposing as he looked when he was decked out as a 'super' villain. He sighed and slowly walked up the walkway to the door of the house that had vinyl coverings on the wall that were a muted yellow, similar to what you'd expect if you heard the words 'banana cream'. He remembered all of this.

He sighed and brought his hand up, knocking on the door a few times, and then stood there, feeling light he was being crushed down by the weight of the world. He had never thought that he would be back here. The door opened after a few moments, revealing a rather old looking woman' who's face had been wrinkled by the rigors of time, along with a fair share of smiles, tears, and worries. She was dressed in a sky blue, floral print dress with a strange doily pattern around the neck, and sleeves that went halfway down her upper arms. Her hair had been bleached a platinum blond, compared to the bright blond it had once been, by time and experience, but her clear blue eyes were as vibrant and powerful as ever. He had never expected to look into those eyes like this again. He really hadn't.

There was a long silence between the two of them before William finally spoke up, "Hi, Mom...It's been a while..."

The silence had continued for a few long moments and then suddenly the door had closed with a loud slam that sounded like it took more strength that the old and frail woman had looked like she had. William stood there looked at the door, pressing his lips together tightly before pulling his bottom lip back, catching it with his teeth, "That wasn't the response I was hoping for..." He sighed an then stepped up and leaned back against the door, "C'mon Mom. Let me in..."

"So you can turn my home into a war zone for you and your 'super friends'!? Get off my lawn!" The old woman's yelling seemed strained and forced. It was hard to tell if she was serious and just having trouble with yelling these days, or if she was just trying to get him to do or say something...like apologize.

William sighed and let his head fall back against the door, "Seriously. I don't even plan on staying here all that long. I'm just coming in to grab a few things from the attic and then I'll be gone." He brought his hand up, looking down to where he would wear a wrist watch if he actually had one, "C'mon, Mom."

"Forget it, buster! That stuff up there is dangerous, and if you thought I wasn't going to let you in before, you can guess how much I want to let you in now!" This was true. William knew that some of the gadgets in the attic were dangerous, but he had always wondered if that was the case when they were on, what sort of dangers the residual radiation would cause for the people who were living under it...like his mother.

He let out a long groan, "I don't have any of my gadgets anymore. I need something. This is the life path I chose and now I can't even live it." He looked over his shoulder at the door, "It isn't like there are any career options left for me now that don't involve me saying something like 'would you like fries with that?'. What do you want me to do?"

"Maybe if you had joined the military like your brother!"

Those words had stung deep into William's heart. It looked like even his mother was going to pick someone other than him as her favorite. He stared forward at the street, watching as a car slowly slid down the road. He didn't have anything to say anymore. He crossed his arms over his chest, wishing that his arms were long enough that he could actually hug himself, just to feel contact with someone. He slowly slid down the door until he was sitting on the doorstep. He remembered his older brother fondly. Corey had been a smart and tough kid who had always stood up for him when the bullies had come to beat up on him for being a geeky kid. Corey had been tough as nails and solid as a brick, but the year he had gone into highschool he had joined the Football team as their star quarterback, earning the name 'PowerCore'. After highschool, Corey had gone off to join the military. Last William had heard of him, he was now going by the title "Major Power". Fitting.

William turned his green eyes up to look off to the road. It was just the way things had gone. Corey had gotten mom's blond hair and her blue eyes, while William had gotten his father's dark hair and emerald green ones. As a result both of them had sort of followed the people they more looked like, one going on the side that served the people, and one that sort of didn't. William took a long breath and then spoke up softly, "How is Corey doing these days?"

There was a long pause from the other side of the door before finally there was an answer, "He's a General now. Youngest one of our time."

William smiled softly at the change. 'General Power'. That was clever. Somehow that boy always managed to have a super hero name. William closed his eyes and let his head fall back against the door again, "Good for him...He find a girl yet?"

"No. At this rate with the two of you, I'll never get to hold my grandchildren." William smiled at that, knowing that was always her argument for everything. She called out again, "I don't suppose you picked up any super villain women." While she had been trying to sound disgusted there was a glimmer of hope at the end of the sentence.

William sighed softly and stared forward at the picket fence, "I did for a while...but that's sort of why I'm here...a lot of stuff happened."

The door suddenly opened and William looked over his shoulder at the aged woman who was looking down at him in a mixture of fear, joy, hopefulness, and pity, all at the same time. She brought up her hand and pointed into the house, in the direction that William knew would take him to the kitchen, "Inside. This discussion requires tea." William smiled softly at that. The only thing that his mother loved more than talking about future grandchildren was her tea. Well, at least he had gotten in the door.

Casey laughed at the expression, and took the glass that was handed to her. "Hey, you're the one who was with Demo there, so how can you say I was...ahem, that...with a pig?" She grinned and shot a small wink to show she had only been poking fun, and lifted her glass to tap against Athena's. "To the future...and to always finishing what you start." Sipping at her drink, Casey hoped the meaning in that toast wouldn't be missed.

After a long drink, she set her glass down, and cleared her throat. "I do need to be serious for a moment though. About a few things, so please...just listen for now, so I can get it all out. For one..." She sighed. "I can't become your sidekick. I said that to get rid of Demolition, just reacted without thinking, and...well, I just can't. Captain Awful needs me, you've seen that, but I really think he needs me for support also, not just for his crimes. For the day to day stuff...moral support, you know." Being a super-person-ophile, Casey had known about the late Max Power even before joining with Will. She hadn't brought it up, but she had an idea he felt driven to meet the standards his father would have had for him. Will needed someone around who could be there for him when things went poorly, as they often did. "That being said, I still want to see you again...and again...as often as we can manage, if we can manage, all things considered. It might hurt the Captain to know I've got an on-going thing with a hero, but I want to run that risk, for night like this."

Casey went quiet, and raised her glass to finish what was left. After dropping all that information, she needed the drink pretty bad, and hoped everything she said had come out right.

William had found himself sitting at the kitchen table, staring into a cup of tea. How had he gotten where he was now. That was the question he was being asked right now. His whole body drooped as he looked down at the cup of tea. That was a hard question to answer really. These had been a few really, really, bad days. He looked up at his mother who seemed to be eagerly awaiting any news that he might mention. How was he going to tell her that the girl that he had been talking about wasn't interested in him anymore? It would probably break his mother's heart to know that he had talked his way in by using a woman he was no longer romantically tied to, or tied to thanks to his job. He sniffed softly and then looked back at his tea. Maybe he could avoid talking to her for a little bit longer. This silence was going to eat at him though. He knew that he'd break before she would. She'd always been able to break him by just staring at him until he said whatever she was waiting for him to spill.

His lips moved almost before he knew he was talking, "She was my henchwoman." He grit his teeth. Why had he mentioned words like 'was' and 'hencwoman'? She wasn't going to believe that it was sincere because it was his henchwoman, and she wasn't going to be all that happy about the word 'was' either. He looked up at her, expecting to see an angry look on the woman's face, but instead she just brought her teacup up and took a long sip from it, waiting for him to continue. Why was she pressing this issue so much? Why did she care? It wasn't like it mattered anymore. She wasn't with him. She had decided to go with Athena. He closed his eyes and took a long breath, looking back to the tea once he had taken his breath.

He looked up at her and shrugged softly, smiling weakly, "Well...one one of our...business trips," He used the word in place of heist for the benefit of his mother, "we met up with a superheroine..." He smiled weakly at that.

"And you tried something with the superheroine? Idiot boy." She put her tea down and shook her head slowly.

William rolled his eyes and then let his head fall backwards, "No. That isn't what happened. The superheroine decided she wanted my henchwoman to be her sidekick, there was a chase involved, and then my apartment got destroyed, and then there was a kiss between the two of them, and now she is her sidekick..."He sighed and his head rolled forward again so that he was once more looking at his mother.

She brought her teacup up and took another sip, "I see." She looked down at the table for a few long moments and then looked up once more. Other than that she had said nothing like she was still waiting for more, like there was more to the story than that.

William looked down at the table and then brought his hand up, tracing his fingers against his forehead as if looking for his blast goggles. They weren't where he could get to them though. He sighed softly and brought his hand down, "She turned her back on me, and she didn't even tell me she was going to do it. She was my partner, and now she is someone else's partner, and she didn't even tell me that we were having trouble. I mean, I knew we were having trouble, because it's pretty much painfully obvious, because I'm not very good, but really...she didn't even tell me she was going." He looked down at his tea, "I mean, she wanted to be close to me and everything, and then suddenly that thing at the house happened and she didn't want to be close to me anymore...and now, she's with Athena. It isn't hard to figure out who she wants to be close to..." He brought his own tea up and took a sip, "I guess what all of those kids said while I was going to school was true...no girl is ever going to want to be close to me."

His mother looked at him for a few long moments and then took another sip of her tea, "Stop it. That isn't true." Her voice was dry and empty, "Perhaps if this life of villainy is treating you bad you should just quit so you can be closer to this girl. You didn't really explain why you want your father's old gadgets."

William placed his palm against his face, covering his left eye, "Because." He closed his eyes tightly. She wasn't going to make him say it, was she?

His mother put her teacup down, "That isn't a reason. That's just a word. It doesn't mean anything. 'Because' is the precursor to your reason."

William gripped his face tightly and then suddenly pulled his hand away, "Because I need to pull off a successful heist to prove to everyone that I can! Because I don't want to feel like a loser anymore! Because if I can prove that I have the ability to be successful in something Casey might come back to me!" He closed his eyes and let his head fall forward until his forehead was resting against the edge of the table, "Because if I can be a little bit more like dad was...if I can live up to a name like Captain Chaos rather than 'Captain Awful', I might actually deserve a girl..."

She looked at him for a few long moments and then let out a soft sigh, "You realize we are talking about a man who killed himself when he made a gun that shoots lightning and it exploded, right?" He looked at her seriously for a few moments, seeming unaffected by this news. She sighed softly again, "Go ahead. Take whatever is in the attic that you need. Just keep in mind that stuff is old and hasn't been used in a long while. I'm not sure how much of it even works, let alone works the way it used to."

William nodded and smiled, leaning over the table and kissing his mother on her forehead before he bolted from the table and upstairs, gathering all of the assorted gear that he could carry. Maybe he could still turn things around.

"That being said, I still want to see you again...and again...as often as we can manage, if we can manage, all things considered. It might hurt the Captain to know I've got an on-going thing with a hero, but I want to run that risk, for night like this." Athena pushed her back against a mess of controls. Her hand fell on her waist to hold her tight she would not fall onto the ground. “You talk to much Casey, I can call you Casey” before she could answer her lips were on hers.

“I know you cant no matter who he is you just don’t run out, that’s why I stayed with low yield over there” she picked up one of cassis long legs wrapping it around her back as she kissed her chin and neck. This should come with an instruction manual it was a little different when you were directing instead of following a part. She hoped she was doing it right. “For now lets cal it friendship with perks no need to mix business in with it I mean we are not super heroes and henchwomen out of the uniform” she asked with a wink.

It felt good being held and kissed this way, and no doubt even that single glass of alcohol had helped relax her into the moment. Casey squeezed her legs tighted around Athena, and wrapped one arm around her neck. With her free hand, she lowered the zipper of her costume. If nothing else, it certainly made easy access possible.

"Very true...without the costumes, we can just be two women." She went a light red color, again, and didn't quite meet Athena's eyes. "And, I'm sorry I talk so much. I'll try not to...but if I do, just find a way to shut me up. Such as..." With that, she gently kissed the other woman's lip, stroking a hand through her hair.

"And, I'm sorry I talk so much. I'll try not to...but if I do, just find a way to shut me up. Such as..." she felt her lips on hers Casey’s fingers through her hair it felt so good this was far better then fighting crime. She kissed down her body tasking her as she had only dreamed she would ever be able to. She kissed back up slowly sipping it down to just above well thing left for latter.

She smiled she could think of a few things that would shut her mouth and not all of them had her lips on hers. “I can imagine a few” she kissed her lips as she discarded her breast plate there was nothing under. He hand roamed down her flat stomach into her suit then lower. She wanted to talk but her mouth was to busy her tongue exploring Casey inside and outside her gab hole.
