Thought about posting this in General.... Looked at the topics. No. No go.
Thought about posting this in How To. But it's not a "how to" question, really. I know how to shop for underthings. :p
Certainly not putting it in BDSM; it's not what I'm looking for.

While I am infrequent poster at best in this community, I have to admit the BDSM community is my favorite here by far. I figure if someone knows anything, I can find that someone here. :)

I'm getting married. :D Moreover, I feel very fortunate as my fiance is also my Dom (though our day to day life looks very vanilla, I expect).

I used to shop at Victoria's Secret. I had a few reasons for this.
- They carried my size (top is 36/38 D, bottom is medium)
- They had *pretty* things in my size
- While it was on the pricier end, things were very well constructed
- It could look sexy while still being classy (important to me. I'm a sub, most assuredly. But I'm not an exhibitionist. Being wrapped enough to be "unwrapped" is something I really enjoy).

I've had a crises of faith with them. :p

First of all, they apparently no longer carry my size in the pretty bras. :( Also, the matching panties are all either boy cut or g-string (no offence to those who love them. I definately think they are sexy!! I'm just more into a more traditional bikini that is lacy, pretty, and doesn't sit between my cheeks, so to speak).

I can go anywhere to buy full coverage day to day bras and panties. :|

I also have to say, I am now somewhat put off by the fact that our local VS has a "teen" section that takes up half the store. It's not just the fact that it's all pepto bismal pink.... it's the fact that it is marketed towards 11 year olds. :\

I want some pretty lingere. :( I want some affordable bra and panty sets, made for curvy girls, and well crafted.
I'd like to be able to get a matched set for about $40 a set or a little under. I don't mind a few naughty pieces for the honeymoon (happy to take suggestions!! :D), but more than anything? I just need a new (and good) place to buy some pretty underthings. Help?

Yours,
Tyr

P.s Prefer Brick and Mortor stores..... I need to try on before buying. Thank you again! :)

I work in a specialty lingerie shop, and IMO you're going to have a hard time finding pretty sets for $40, per. I'm going to toss out some brand names, most should be carried by larger department stores; however if you can pleasepleaseplease get fitted for your bra by a professional. You can't be both a 36 and/or 38 D; VS is notoriously bad about fitting women into their inventory, rather than fitting them to their size. (I routinely have women walk in the shop swearing they wear a VS 38D, only to discover for example that they wear a 34F/FF, etc)

Betsy Johnson has some pretty things out in the fall line, but you're looking at $40-50 for a bra; $15 - 25 for panties. Felina is a company with inexpensive bras and panties, as well (probably $35+ for a bra; $15-ish for panties).

Natori has some fabulous things (and OMG comfy), but again - $60+ for the bra; $22-ish for panties.

Simone Perele and Huit are my personal favorites, occasionally followed by Chantelle (not that I can afford to wear them) - bras run $65 - 100+; panties $20 - 50+.

Wacoal has a gorgeous higehr end line, but again - $65+ for a bra; $20+ for panties.

If you're a fuller cup, Fantasie and Freya are also good options (and they make some drop dead gorgeous lingerie) - expect to drop $65+ for a bra; $25+ for panties.

Thank you for the tips! *hugs*
I shall go out, get refitted, and have a few names/places in my arsenol to look for. :)

I tend to like Frederick's of Hollywood, but then I have a lot of white trash in me, too. :D

I admit it; I'm a snob. If money were no object - French lingerie, only.

I

have

expensive

taste.

:D

(Of course I'm poor as a church mouse, so it's a bit of a moot point, but a girl can dream, right?)

Hot. But a fat girl has to take what she can get. :p

And I feel you on the "poor as a church mouse" thing.

It costs a bit more, but Fantasie of England makes gorgeous, sexy bras up to a 40. Once you hit a size 42+ band, selection drops off precipitously. ;)

The above information was brought to you by the eclectic mind of the Mouse, and the letter B.

Thank you, Ms. Mouse. :) Unfortunately, my band size is 42 , and I'm broke, LOL. Maybe one day. *Crosses fingers*

One day you won't be broke, and you'll get fitted fitted for something pretty. (I'm on a lingerie mission from Gawd, ya know. ;) )

Hey Ms Mouse,

Since you're giving advice n' all .
I'm fitted, and my size is 32E, I have no trouble finding bras, but I'd really love a baby doll or chemise with an underwire cup (boobies not as perky as those not as, um tittilly challenged). So far I've hit many a brick wall. I'm prepared to spend the cash as long as it available online (cos I'm in Australia).
Do you know of any brands that have such outlandish sizes as mine:rolleyes:?

Ta, :rose:KK.

Yes, like that, I'm always a little dubious when they don't have the actual cup sizes in their description, but it does have bust size as part of the sizing, and the price is right, so maybe it's a winner :)
Nice find.

Ps, fuck it's hot here, 35.7C.

It's pretty warm here too.. I don't have a thermometre so I have no idea what the exact temperature is, but there is a nice breeze blowing.

Poor M is starting to feel the heat, he's sitting in front of the fan right now. Personally I think it's great weather right now.. just right

I'm just now seeing this... sorry.

Figleaves.com is a good starting place, but I don't know that Torrid will have anything in your size - 32E is actually pretty small in terms of clothing size - I'm guessing your US clothing size is a 4 or 6?

At an E, you're like right on the edge of stuff not working quite right (duh, she says), but I know Besty Johnson has a few really darling chemises/baby dolls with side stays (bones) at the bust, and her Fall '08 collection has a killer sheer halter chemise with a molded cup bra built in. I can't find an image online to save my life, but I've seen it.

Your best bet will probably be doing the optical illusion thing (I am so much friends with the optical illusion thing), or buy larger than necessary and have it altered - stick with Empire waists (snug through the band) or halters, and woven materials (chiffons, silks, satins) rather than knits.

... Or you can do what I've done, and develop a vintage lingerie addiction and trade out modern baby dolls for 1940s - 60s fitted slips. :D

I realise its a UK site, but simplyyours.co.uk are VERY good for bras in a great range of sizes.

How far up does their cup size go? I'm only a 38. :D

lol :)

Too much kids tv for you, girlfriend.

Depends on design. Fantasie specializes in fuller bras in UK sizing; Freya and Panache carry a similar range. (depending on design up to a UK H or sometimes JJ)

I'm sooo sick of granny bras. I want something pretty.

Now I just need some money for a pretty bra. *sigh*

Thanks for the advice Ms Mouse :rose:. I have no idea what my US size is, but it's 12 in Australia.
I'll be looking at your suggestions post haste.:)

I totally love this thread. :D

... that's all I wanted to say, really. I shall bookmark this and return once I get a chance to go lingerie-shopping again.
