Nice work if you can get it.

Let's see. My disability is $683 a month. Canadian dollar is pretty close to par. Let's assume I get my 'work related' top up of $100 every month

Times twelve is $9,396 per annum.

$18 million divided by 9,396 is 1,916 years before I match that.

Nice.

Oddly enough, I don't really blame this guy. The Board of Director's who MADE this possible should be publicly disemboweled however!

If he takes it, he will be lynched by an angry mob and his house will be burned to the ground

I dunno what to say RG. Get a job and stop feeding off my tax dollars?

Will you come my funeral, Charley? When the dichotomies and hypocrisies of the working world drive me insane once more and I blow the top of my head off?

Me, too. You two get the implements of destruction and grappling hooks (to get over those fences), I'll plot out courses to their homes on google maps....
I've got C4. It will get us through the fence much faster.

I dunno Charley - the medical establishment is coming up with science to support the claim that mental illness is actually what it says it is - an illness caused by a chemical imbalance in the brain - not a conscious decision by a person to stay home and not work. Although I don't know the details of RG's condition, you don't know them either, so for you to assume that he's nothing but a slacker could either be seen as offensive or ignorant. Either way, it doesn't make you look very good. (Steps off of soap box.)

My comment to RG is that I don't think he'd survive as a CEO, because the main qualification for that job is being an asshole, and RG seems to be a genuinely nice guy.

I dunno Dee, but RG is not a mental case. I have met him. As for asshole? I am sure all of us could be in the right situation.

Put him back in the corporate world and see how long he lasts. He's good now but it would last a week tops. I've seen it with my own eyes.

Odious as this may seem, this was the contract offered to Mr. Fishman and he accepted it in good faith. Whether he was aware of WaMu's shaky financial condition is open to conjecture, but accept the post he did and therefore is entitled to his renumerations if he chooses to accept them.

He's not unlike a college football player who goes pro, signs a multi-million dollar contract, plays in a few games, then is so severely injured he can never play again. No one is clamoring for him to surrender what was offered to him and he agreed to.

I know corporations are a favorite target when things go badly, but for abject fuck-ups, the government has no peer. Thinking our politicians and career government bureaucrats can solve everyone's problems is woefully optomistic, as history has proven time and time again.

Last job I had was a janitor. Even that came close to driving me off the deep end.

As with every other job I had I did very good work. And nobody gave a shit.

Oh well. I got one good story out of it.
