Have you ever heard the story of the little boy who wrote a note and put it in a bottle and then threw the bottle into the sea? There he stood on the shore wondering what would happen to his note. Would it ever be found again? Would it wash up on some faraway shore? Would someone take the time to read it? Would anyone respond to the message inside?

It seems to me that the personals section of Literotica is somewhat like a note in a bottle cast into the deep blue sea. Who will read it? Will anyone respond? On what computer shore will the note wash up having been tossed to a fro by the digital gods?

Well here goes.... splash...
Time will tell... now its time for me to get back to work!

I've heard the story, yes. I've also seen Jaws. And yet I still swim in the ocean. So I'm either very brave or very stupid, or a combo of both. I'm ever so curious to find out if you got any nibbles on your post. I hope so, because you seem to be the intelligent sort. Good luck with all that.

Will anyone find my 'bottle' before winter turns the water to ice and all progress on the seas is halted until the spring when the warmth of the sun chases the cold away and my message is free to once more make its way to distant shores...

For all my attempts at being creative, this little fishing expedition has been quite unsuccessful. Am I discouraged? I suppose I could be, except for the fact that it only takes one personal message to turn things around. And so I will sit and wait and check back here every once in a while to see if anyone has come to my rescue. Even though it has been quiet thus far, I must admit that it has been fun to think up what to write and then to wait to see a response. 'Fishing,' after all, is not for the impatient and one never knows when one's luck will change.

You forgot to write the note before you threw the empy bottle in! Hard for people to respond.

Yes, Mr.LibraStud, that is a valid observation! I will have to ponder that one.

What would I write if I were to write such a note? How would I find just the right woman among all the women who might populate an ocean like Literotica?

I will set to work on this right away... and when I have found the right words... perhaps I will be bold enough to share it here.

Having considered the reasonable suggestion of LibraStud to explain what I would write on the paper in the bottle, I have come up with the following...

If I were to put a note in a bottle and toss it into the Literotica Sea I would write something like this: Attention and greetings to whoever may happen upon this bottle. It was flung into the sea of cyberspace in the hopes that by some freak of nature some fair maiden would retrieve it from the digital waters, read the note and say to herself, "I feel strangely drawn to contact this very interesting man." If you are such a maiden, I would be honored to hear from you. If not please return the note to the bottle, seal the top and throw it back into the sea that it might continue its amazing journey...

There, I hope that satisfies the curiosity of those who care enough to know. The rest of you can get on with your day or night depending on where you are in the world. That said, I sit and wait.......... or should I go to sleep........ I guess that depends on where I am in the world, now doesn't it.....
