1. I see many series that have a small index about halfway down the page or so that link to other stories within the series. I plan on putting up the second installment to my own series, and I just want to know, how to make it do that? Do you have to click something in the submission page or anything?

2. Can somebody give me a rough estimate of how many Microsoft Word (12 Font, Times New Roman) pages it takes to equal just one Literotica story page?

1: Lit put up the list of stories in a series automatically.

2: Normally, 6 word pages make up a lit page, more or less.

How does Lit know it's a series?

About 3500 words from what I understand.

Lit will know if the titles are the same, with different chapters. I don't think it will if titles are different. Unless maybe the description is the same for each (eg., continuing adventures...), though maybe it would then fall in the similar category.

From the horse's mouth (sorry, Manu!), third entry down:

Yeah, it's an automatic feature, working off the story titles as far as I can see.

Occasionally it screws up and adds stories with similar but different titles. It's still a fairly new thing.

Literotic page breaks are determined by a character count, modified by the nearest paragraph break and the amount of story remaining.

On average it works out to 3767 words per page as calculated by MS Word's word count function. (as determined by a random sampling of 100 multi-page stories several years ago.) The deviation form that averageis consierable -- as much as 500 words -- so it's easier to calculate as 3,500 words.

However, I wouldn't be too concerned about story/chapter lengths because your story will suffer if you try to fit it in a preconceived size constraint. End the story or chapter where the story needs it to end without worrying about keeping things neat and tidy as far as word counts.
