Hi everyone

I'm still fairly new to writing and have only had two stories published on Lit

Wonder if I could pick one or two brains please. My cousin recently came second in a nation wide television talent show and has filled me in with much of the juicy bits that go on. Would make a very good base for a story.

Problem is it is likely to take at least three chapters. And depending on my army duties I do not know how long it would take. Do any of you know if you can spread a story over different categories, or does it all have to come under one? For example, this might have some girl on girl in one chapter, a first time in another and non concent further down. What would you experienced writers suggest?

Thanks in advance

Suzy

It's really up to you, and whatever you decide to do, others have done before as well without getting into trouble. You can post them all in the same category, in which case it would be advisable to pick a theme-neutral category like Novels&Novellas; or you can post each chapter in the category that fits that particular chapter the best, in which case make sure your chapter can stand alone and be read and understood without necessarily reading the others. If you post the whole thing in the same themed category, like lesbian or non-consent, you'll get some flack in the chapter that are out of place. (And rightly so, if you ask me.)

I've seen authors submit multi-chapter stories in the same category (I do that myself, even if there are elements of other categories) and some submit each chapter in the category it should belong in (First Time, Romance, Non-Consent, etc.)

One of the authors I'm editing now is submitting his chapters in different categories pertaining to the chapter.

There's always the Novels and Novellas category, too, but that's usually for longer stories and has a low readership (unless a popular author posts there) so I'd steer clear of that.

Nothing wrong with each chapter having it's own category. It gives the reader an idea of what to expect in the story and decide if he/she wants to read it.

But, remember, if you want to move it later, you can, but it might take a few tries before you get it moved, so pick your categories wisely.

I think I was the first to submit a story with different chapters in different categories. Of course, it's necessary to have a common header in each story that tells in what order to read the chapters. Also, if you have any incest in any chapter, that chapter automatically goes into the incest category.
