Racism is assigning certain (primarily negative) attributes to a group and then to every individual in that group regardless of truth. Their own group or another group. People can hate their own race or individual races or any combination thereof. It's just lazy thinking.

Anyone can be racist.

OK, anyone can make disparaging comments about another person's ethnicity, but racism, in it's purest sense, is a form of oppression, just as sexism and homophobia is. This is why so much of the whining from people like boho blue and the Cade alts is bullshit. Same goes for when le jerk goes on about women oppressing men and his reverse sexism schitck.

I can accept both definitions as valid. But there's reverse racism and self-hatred and all the variation of the socioeconomic trend that gets mixed in. I would just expand the socioeonomic trend to include some more variation that tends to bite everyone in the ass.

Yes some individuals experience hatred of their own race ( the rush in the uk to embrace various 'celtic' heritage is proof positive... everyone wants to be a minority it seems). Yes, in some cases they're readdressing an actual imbalance.

In some cases they're exaggerating or flat out lying to create a perceptual disadvantage in order to gain a real advantage.
