McCain confirms Sarah Palin!

It appeared you were suggesting that the Democratic convention was a non-event now because people are sheep and will forget all about it simply because McCain made some news today. And I think that's still a fair reading of what you originally posted, even if that wasn't your intent.

And it's pundit ferfuxsake.

No, not at all. I was commenting on this previous post to mine:

I think the timing was a big mistake on their part. Instead of dissecting and distorting Obama's speech last night, all the dittohead pundits are busy trying to justify Rove's, er, I mean McCain's choice for VP.

Obama's speech gets to resonate.

The good timing, I suggested, took away some of the highlight off Obama's convention extravaganza by shifting the media to new coverage.

Political analysis of both will follow, but the viewing with ones own eyes is more apt to make a direct impact, is what I meant to imply ... pundints/pundits ;) as more tuned out fodder.

TALKLEFT OFFERS SOUND ADVICE: "I would add that Obama does not need to be arguing how important experience is. Let me also add that when Tim Kaine, who has exactly the same experience as Palin, was treated by the Media and the Dems as a serious and acceptable potential pick, it opens up charges of a double standard."

Tim Kaine OK

S Palin NOT OK

I ask this in seriousness and not as an argument. How many VPs write legislation? I don't know the answer.

they help with ideology

they are the Pres of the Senate

they are an imp member of their party

they are a heartbeat away from President

their ideas and ideals are importnat to know

IS BIDEN STILL RUNNING?

She is known as a reformer. She took on a corrupt bureaucracy in Alaska and prevailed, she kicked ass and took names. She came out of it with an 80% approval rate. She's right on top of the energy issues in Alaska and is known for her distance from big oil.

I'm pretty sure her husband works for BP. The Dems (if they are smart....and they are not) should exploit that.

She also used her position as governor to exert pressure to get her ex-brother-in-law fired. Dems need to exploit the scandal-plagued state she presides over.

And apparently she is a creationist. They definitely need to shine some light on this.

Will they do these things? I doubt it.

More and more I am starting to think that both parties are desperately trying to lose this election.

Thor and Delicacy are the only people on here I know from Alaska. I don't pretend to know what either of their politics are, they tend not to participate in pol threads. It would be interesting to have their impressions, though.

All of the above are the obvious facts about the VP. I got that in HS Govt class. So basically, all of her reforms don't mean much unless she becomes President, except in those cases where she is the tie breaking vote. She probably won't be writing any policy. So does that mean that Biden is a better choice given that his foreign policy experience can actually be used in diplomacy with other nations? I'm not speaking as to whether or not anyone agrees with his politics. I'm saying, what matters for a good VP? And again, it's not a leading question.

I asked how many governors you know that have done the same thing. Read for God's sake.

I did. Your comment could be read to imply that she initiated it in Alaska, which is not the case, or that she was special because of it. They've done that in Alaska since 1982.

OK, I saw this a while ago

But was LAUGHING

at the BYE!-DUN! foreign policy experience

Sorta like Chauncy Gardner, in BEING THERE

sorta like THE PUSSY and HER expieience cause she was at the WH for 8 years

HELL, the WH Chef was there for 24 years

WHAT HAS BYE!-DUN!, done?

voted against Iraq war I, and for Iraq war II, wanted to divide Iraq into 3, opposed the SURGE

Called Iran a good partner in 02

WHAT HAS HE ACTUALLY DONE TO SHOW HIS JUDGEMENT IS SOUND?

Susan B. Anthony List Is Happy

"Sarah Palin is the whole package. There couldn’t be a better vice presidential pick," said Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. "Women voters are electrified, and Sarah is someone who is truly in sync with the way real American women think. She is a reform-minded woman who will give all Americans, born and unborn, the authentic leadership they deserve."

"The majority of American women support commonsense restrictions on abortion. Adding Palin to the GOP ticket will resonate with independent women voters nationwide. By choosing the boldly pro-life Sarah Palin as his running mate, John McCain has taken his stand as the one true, authentic pro-life ticket."

The comment was specifically "I'm not speaking as to whether or not anyone agrees with his politics. I'm saying, what matters for a good VP?" Did you pull out your scribble pad and all those clever nicknames hadn't been used yet so you ignored the actual question?

And yes Biden has foreign policy experience...oh sorry "expieience." That's not a comment on whether its good or bad. It is experience. Foreign leaders know who Joe Biden is seperate from Barrack Obama. Hell until this morning most people outside of Alaska didn't know who Palin was.

My comment was that foreign leaders know Biden, not Obama, because I asked what people thought made a good VP. You do what fringe idiots always do...deflect deflect deflect...when they don't have an answer. Someone criticizes you and you say, but look what THEY did. It doesn't address anything. You should be on talk radio...seriously. You'd fit right in with those morons stirring up their sheep.

Wait...why am I arguing with a racist moron? Pulling myself out of that quagmire. If anyone else wants to comment on the actual question posed I'd find it interesting. If not....
