RUSSIAN TANKS INVADE UKRAINE
After being detained for more than 70 hours by the Secret Service on yet another “credentials check,” White House correspondent Bret Baier reported, after his release, that no mention was made of the Russian invasion of Ukraine over the weekend during President Obama’s news conference on Tuesday morning until he posed the question. Baier asked President Obama to comment on the invasion, as members of the White House Press Security Team surrounded him.
“I’m glad you asked that, Bret,” the President said, waiving off the security squad, “I have dispatched Secretary of State Ayers to see if the United States can be of any assistance in quelling the violence over there. As there have been reports of widespread street demonstrations protesting the Russian Peace-Keeping Tank Force actions, it is important that calm is maintained in the region and that the Russian Peace Mission is not thwarted by hooligans and escaped convicts rioting in the streets.”
“If I might follow-up, sir,” Baier reported asking the President, “Why hasn’t this been reported by any of the other news agencies?”
President Obama responded, “It was time for a change. You know, Bret, if we could consider each other, a neighbor, a friend, or a brother, it would be a wonderful, wonderful world – it would be a wonderful world.”
At that, Helen Thomas shouted out, “Thank you, Mr. President!” and the press conference was concluded.
Since Fox News lost its license for violating the Fairness Doctrine, Baier has been reporting for Fox-Wire Internet News (FWIN), the only remaining outlet for the once-giant news organization, and over radio station XFOX, the 500,000 watt radio station based in Tijuana, Mexico.
