Going into the bedroom to take off my shoes I was confronted by a sight I didn't want to see. One of the local critters has somehow gotten inside in it's escape from the rain. That's right here was a large, (One Inch +) Cockroach.

Now everyone and everything says these things are fast. Hmmmm, maybe they should have told this one. I struck once and had it in my hand. I rolled it between my hands giving it a headache then dumped it into the john. I showed it my opinion of it by pissing on it then flushing it away.

I guess my hands are slow, I had to think about it for a split second before catching it.

(My wife is sitting on the couch shuddering after reading this. She doesn't like Cockroaches.)

Here in the Carolinas we call those Palmetto bugs!

Kinda wishing the thread title were different, I might not be shuddering with your wife now!

Nope, this wasn't a Palmetto Bug. Too small.

Palmetto bugs are absolutely no fun. (Although my cats would disagree.) Get hit in the visor with one of those at sixty and try to see where you're going. They will rock your head back and completely cover your visor in goop.

I don't even want to think about hitting one of those without a helmet or gear.
