You guys arent selling and packaging abortion the right way. Do it like this: DEAR CHRISTIAN FRIENDS, ITS A FACT THAT THE WOMEN WHO GET ABORTIONS GENERALLY SPAWN MOST OF THE SOCIOPATHS AND CRIMINALS AND THUGS WHO BLIGHT SOCIETY. PROTECT YOURSELF AND YOUR LOVED ONES BY ENCOURAGING WELFARE QUEENS TO ABORT.
 
This is typical Bushian Science. This is how science is done under this administration: not by scientists, but by politicos. This is why the head of the Women's Medicine Section of the FDA resigned under protest two years ago, and she was a staunch Republican. Because these people don't do science, they do politics.

It's a fucking outrage.

think about it, underage girls would not be able to get contraception without it being classified as abortion, girls going into gp's would be attatcked by fundamentalists. AND if abortion did become illegal which is highly possible then contraception would therefore be illegal as well.

Equally legal, but not equally available. You can get contraception from an primary care physician and it is often covered by insurance. Some states lack anyone who will provide abortions. Availability is much more restricted and insurance is much less likely to cover it unless the mother has severe health problems.

As lushlucid pointed out, imagine what would happen if all of the laws regarding abortion also applied to contraception. Waiting periods, parental notification, restrictions on where it would be available and who could provide it, requirements to show propaganda not supported by science. The list goes on. Pharmacists are already chipping away at availability by refusing to fill prescriptions.

Honestly, we're becoming a goddamned Theocracy, run by religious rulers and mumbo jumbo. Creationism. Deciding when life begins by taking a survey. Denying global warming because it interferes with Bush's pro-big business agenda.

Why not just put Pat Robertson as Science Adviser to the President?
