Okay, but don't forget that GhostHunters is on tonight!

I teach classes on Wednesdays, so I have them recorded for me, and then every once in a while I catch up with three or four episodes at once.

but yeah. Big fan of that show.

I have friends that make it into a drinking game. Like you have to drink every time they explain what an EMF meter does, and stuff.

Hmmm. I'll be watching the Sox. Unless I can talk ee into watching the Jon and Kate Pus 8 marathon on TLC. Which I seriously doubt. He might agree, but he'll sigh heavily a lot. Oh I could go in the living room and watch it, but it's so much comfier here in the bedroom.

I think it's very competitive here, too, but the poet-people always seem to overcome it and reach out to each other when they need it the most. Actually I don't know if that's diff from the AH because I'm hardly ever there, but it is what I most love about the people here. :)

I must have missed the competitiveness. I really haven't seen it. Perhaps some people have a sense of a popularity contest here, but I really don't see it. In fact, I remember experiencing a bit of culture shock when I started participating here instead of the AH. I can laugh about it now, but I remember getting upset about the limited votes that poems receive. I'm sure that thread is here somewhere. LOL

It's rare for any of my poems to get more than 4 votes. You know what? I couldn't care less. What's way more important is that I am learning.

Rilke?

*pokes head around kitchen door to eavesdrop*

hi all. I'll be back here writing porn if anyone needs me.

I'm going to tease you just a little bit...I've recorded my first Rilke sonnet (in German). I just have to figure out now how to get it posted here...I don't want to post it to Poetry with Audio, because it is only a cover of someone else's poetry. Any ideas?

Someone, pleeeeease, give him ideas.

I know I have some, but they're not about uploading sound files.

We certainly have had our share of "You're an idiot" "No, you're an idiot" screaming matches. But I think most people who hang around here for any length of time are pretty welcoming of different opinions and styles.

Besides, reading Rilke (as I am doing now) is a humbling experience for the ego of anyone attempting to write poetry.

But I do have to say that the AH doesn't seem that bad to me, not that I spend that much time there. A lot of the people there seem very helpful to others.

I've seen one or two spats one of which was aimed at my head by someone who found out that 'sweetness' here can fight back. The few times I have been on AH I have been mostly ignored perhaps I was too sweet!
BTW who didn't put the penny in the slot this morning or perhaps it was open by the time all you lot got up

OOOOOOooohhhhhh........

...not very good...my first recording in twenty years...my voice is better in the morning, especially after...well, you know...but I'll do better on the next one...

Sexy indeed. Oh thank you, golly, thank you. You've seriously brightened my rather boring day.

Now, your assignment.

Record the next one just after you've completely ravaged the Amazing A, and while still looking at her.

it's for science. I want to hear how it's different. ahem.

And now, Cheffy's likely to attempt his own podcast thingie. Need to spend about six months doing fitness exercises on the vocal chords, to get them back into tone. This is good practice. Thing is, back when I was on the radio, I did it in English (German is not native to me...it takes many, many rehearsals to get through a sonnet in German), and I smoked two packs of cigarettes a day, along with three or four quarts of coffee. Wrecked my life, but certainly did wonders for keeping the vocal chords loose...

...and besides, AA's second language is French. I think she might laugh at me if I began reciting in German right after...

...and with a microphone, no less? And tell her it's for BJ? Uhhhhh............

Not for ME. For SCIENCE.

I bet she'd think it was hilarious.

And well, really, it's actually all for her anyway. We're all just here to goad you into ever more high-flown expressions of your adoration for your own beloved.

Like we say in my household, get your inspiration anywhere you like, long as you bring it home to ME.

Hello peeps!

Vacation is going very well. The sea turtles came to shore to see me yesterday and we spent a special afternoon together.

*rubs in sunscreen*

I think that stuff is in my blood now.
