for being a finalist for the Most Influential Poet Award in the 9th Annual Literotica Author Awards. How fantastic!

Unfortunately the contest is already over, but I felt that congrats were due none the less! :D

Wow, thats really cool Bijou. Congrats!

I have immense admiration ( and jealousy ;)) for people who are talented with words :rose:

She got Three votes! way to go. I stand corrected. I voted for Senna Jawa. Man of few words, but none are ever wasted.

congrats bijou, it seems hard enough to get nominated, that is in itself an accomplishment!

Wow how the hell did I miss this entire thread?

Thanks, everybody.

And well, purely for my own self-esteem, I have to correct and say I got THREE whole votes, thank you very much. heh heh. But I didn't enter, I was nominated by a really nice person. And none of the three votes were mine, since I voted for vampiredust, who eventually actually won and absolutely deserved to. He's a phenomenal poet and works extraordinarily hard at the craft.

I haven't talked much in this area lately - been busy elsewhere, but I still lurk a lot and have great admiration for a lot of the good discussion that's been happening.

golly, thanks.

Y'all are too kind.

What I liked best about the results was that it is often asserted that those things are just popularity contests. If I had won, it might have been for either reason; I'd like to think my writing is alright, but I'm also well known enough that people could have decided it was all just a clicque thing.

The fact that vampiredust won proves beyond doubt that this was a legitimate vote; he doesn't come in and schmooze and socialize. He just writes, diligently, constantly and well. He publishes regularly and takes the craft as seriously as anyone I know. He's influential in that sense, inspiring everyone to truly get serious about writing.

That's why I nominated him and voted for him. heh heh.

but I won't pretend I don't appreciate all the props. It does my heart good.

Meh, maybe next year.

I would put money on you winning next year...and how nice that you bookmarked this so you would know exactly when someone posted, you are such an egomaniac. I despise your phoniness...but by next time, you should have enough minions to vote you right in. Have fun!!

While I appreciate the sentiment, I genuinely hope not. Someone like me winning those generally starts a shitstorm of accusations of cliquishness. Better it should be a quiet, non-obnoxious, diligent poet whose qualifications are unquestionable.

But thank you. I think.
