Ok, I'm sure there was a thread for this already, but since I can't find it I'm starting a new one.

What peeves you?

-Bad grammar
-Horrible spelling
-Atrocious punctuation

For the most part I overlook mistakes. Hell, I make them (and I go through great pains to catch my own mistakes and fix them), but I hate having to reread stuff consistently. This drives me nuts.

Recently Taylor Swift came out with a song called 'just another picture to burn'. The original words are 'you can tell your friends that i'm obsessive and crazy. that's fine, I'll tell mine your gay'. Sugarland has a song where they mention 'asses and elbows'. Jason Aldean has a song where he says 'screw you, man' in the lyrics. All of these got changed to something 'less offensive' within a week of airing.

BUT Big & Rich's song 'save a horse, ride a cowboy' IS PERFECTLY FINE TO PLAY! And so's Toby Keiths 'let's get drunk and be somebody'. I personally would rather my kids listen to any of the above lyrics than songs about getting drunk and fucking a cowboy.

I hate hypocrisy.

People chewing with their mouths open.
Bigots.
Wanna be middle class snobbery.

I hate cell phones!!!! Okay maybe not cell phones as much as dumb people who walk around sharing their whole conversation with the world...or when I am in a movie theatre trying to enjoy Momma Mia (which was hard enough already) and someones damn cell phone goes off during the middle of Meryl Streep's big solo number........is it so hard to take yourself and your phone outside when someone calls you in a movie, resturant, store...etc?

* how dust in a house never goes away
* socks/shoes that come down when you walk ... ggrrr
* The stupid "Relationship" status on Facebook .. annoys the shit outta me
(wow, it's a good day when that's all I'm peeving about)

Just stop them from rotting their brains with that satanic country music and let them listen to some wholesome musical goodness like DMX or PAntera.

Balloons popping
Spitting on the ground
People talking loudly on their cell phones
Text messaging while the key-tone volume is on
Children screaming in a public place and the parent does nothing about it
People insulting my intelligence
People who are flakes
Spoiled people/snobs
People who act like they know everything, when they are the main ones lacking in life

Yeah that's just half of it....

Cell phone use in inappropriate places or in a loud manner
Poor spelling, grammar, etc. especially when spell check is just a button away
People who cut across busy parking lots
People who think they are entitled to things or services just because they exist
People who can only see the negative side of things, especially when they call it "being practical" or "playing devil's advocate"

talking in movies
chewing with your mouth open or making mouth noises
self-centeredness
women that think to be attractive they have to be stupid and ditzy, they make me NUTS. Never hide the fact that you have a brain and your ability to think on your own without someone telling you what to think or feel or say.

Wow, so many for someone who is still just a sweet young thing. Kinda 'fraid of the rest of the list

--people who are always late and don't think it is a problem or apoligize
--bad manners in both adults and children
--self-centered people

~People who have to be the loudest sound in the room when talking on their cell phone
~People who don't follow through
~Liars/hypocrites
~People who lack manners
~Slow drivers

Yup!

Dammit, Homburg! That needed a spew alert!

...

Makes ya want to tie the kid to the parent and throw them both in the river.

Yuppers. Really, though, all of those fall together. The late folks are completely self-centered, and bad-mannered. My 80-year-old mother is awful about that, and it's been soooo tempting more than once to just leave without her.

And one more peeve: People who don't seem to know how to turn off their turn signals after they use them to perform a lane change. I just *love* driving in the left lane of the interstate behind some old coot who has his left blinker on. Makes me wonder where the hell he thinks he's going to turn next!

Well, those folks are only half there. Cus, their rationale is that *eventually* they will be turning left. But, eventually they will also be turning right. So, if they were *all* there, or perhaps completely *not* there, then they will put on their hazard lights.

Which is also a pet peeve: driving down the road in a storm with your hazard lights on. um, DUH, yeah, there is a storm. But, instead, are you simply declaring *yourself* to be a "hazard"?!!?!?!

*What I call "bitcher's and not doer's". People who want to bitch and moan about every situation, but refuse to do anything to change it.

*Bad grammar and horrible spelling.

*People who drive really slow, or people who pull out right in front of me when there is no traffic behind me, and then turn two minutes later.

*When people give advice like they have experience and actually don't.

*Messy people. I have OCD and like for everything to be neat and tidy.

Power-hungry, psycho, petty little bitches.

Sorry. Rough day at work.

~~bad drivers
~~students who think they deserve special treatment because they're in grad school
~~people who have to micromanage everything
~~people who feel the need to impose their beliefs on everyone else
~~bad manners

There are many more...

Working in fast food I have learned to hate the following:
- people who talk on their cell phones while ordering
- people who enter through the "exit only" and skip the drive through order box so I have to deal with them at the window while taking another order at the same time
- co-workers who decide that their personal conversations are more important than helping to deal with the million customers who just walked in the door
- managers who throw out my $70 shoes without even warning me that I'm not allowed to leave them at work
- so many other things, but I'll leave my venting at that. Tuesday is a bad day to work at KFC in Canada

I'd suggest it, but normally people like that don't hear anything they don't want to hear.

To tell the truth, it wouldn't bother me, if it was consistent. But it's not. You can sing about one night stands, and getting drunk, and cheating, but you can't say 'gay' on the radio!

I'm with you on the hypocritical inconstancy. I just wanted to say "wholesome" and "DMX" together. :D
