Its on most of the news if you have your home page set to one. The condemned killer who now says he is too fat and they would have trouble finding his viens to inject the lethal drugs. I thought it slightly ludicrous when it also said his migrane headache medication might interfere with the lethal drugs.

Everything else aside, I don't care if they with-hold his headache medication long enough to kill him.

Cruel and unusual punishment to kill him while he has a headache?

His two victims had been "tortured, raped, beaten and then strangled to death."

Perhaps they had headaches during the 3 and 1/2 hours.

Anyways, none of the news stories say anything in detail about his crime or victims, I had to search for it.

Here is what is important:

"Dawn McCreevy was a voracious reader who planned a career in fashion and marketing and longed to travel to London. Wendy Offredo was a National Honor Society scholar who aspired to be a fashion model and actress. Both girls, loved and missed terribly to this day, by family and friends."

If you want to execute someone painlessly a 9mm hollowpoint in the back of the head works very well.

Kind of messy though.

But is it humane to do that when he has a headache?

Seriously sweetie, I couldn't believe how long I had to search to find out who he killed, and how, its like ..................... they are no longer important.

With 25,000 murders in the U.S. every year, individuals fade to insignificance.

To the international community, they aren't. What's important is the "honor" of the Mexico in this issue and the "authority" of the World Court. Mere women can't possibly be expected to measure to such things.

They should just lock him in a cell and not feed him. He'll lose weight, and die.

Yes, but I think if you do that while he has a headache its still called cruel and unusual punishment.

Maybe if they chop off his head, how do you spell that thingie guillotine or sumpthin?

That would be humane, no headache.

...I saw this story and knew it would end up on here

I learn all the important news here. That Solzenitzen died, Morgan Freeman was injured, Canada bus attack left man decapitated, and more. Plus helpful how-tos, like "oral, underarm or rectal use?"

Fat people get injections all the time. They just need to find a doctor who works with diabetics.

And you're right, Lisa-- it's damn near impossible to find any reportage about the victims.

Nah, that was determined cruel and unusual due to the fact that the brain retains enough blood to operate for a few more seconds. In fact, a French scientist, when taken to have his head cut off, had his friend count how many times he blinked his eyes...postmortem.

that is dedication though. if he still remembered to blink at his moment of death and all...

One of the oldest, simplist, most humane forms of execution is hanging. A hangee doesn't strangle, there's a few feet of fall, his/her neck is broken and the shock kills almost instantly. This lethal injection thing is absurd.

I have often thought about that. :confused:When the Constitution was written, hanging was the normal method of execution, :eek:so it couldn't have been considered to be "cruel and unusual" punishment.

There are some people, including many on this forum, who are so opposed to capital punishment that they lose perspective. They want to keep a scumbag like this one in a life of ease, and care not one whit about his victims, or the friends and family who want justice.

url

for this story: the murderer's name is richard cooey.

i wonder if some posters believe that that more a killer tortures his victions, the more he himself should be tortured, before execution.

I oppose the death penalty, but I suppose that makes me not "care" about anyone.
