Yes. They had to go work somewhere to pay their bankers bills after WalMart came to town and their little hometown stores went out of business.

Do they have the right to leave and put themselves up for sale in the labor market?

They have the right but not the practical ability in most cases.


Are they not subject to federal and state labor codes?

Yes, and such codes allow Unionization.

Do they have the right to secret ballot when voting on Union organization?
