Jesus is our lord and savior

"Indeed, it is an indisputable fact that all the complex and horrendous questions confronting us at home and worldwide have their answer in that single book [the Bible]."

--Ronald Reagan
40th President of the United States

"It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible."

--George Washington (1732-1799)
First President of the United States

"When you have read the Bible, you will know it is the Word of God, because you will have found it the key to your own heart, your own happiness, and your own duty."

--Woodrow Wilson (1856-1924)
28th President of the United States

"When someone goes to extreme lengths to preach on an internet forum, they do so because their own faith is circumspect. They're not trying to convince others of their beliefs as much as they're trying to convince themselves."

Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

Mary Magdaline said to him, "Lord, it is hard to think of you on the cross." Jesus said, "Yes, Mary, a sword will pierce your own soul also, but it is the forerunner of great joy. You also will die in a distant land at the hands of unholy mortals, but death is not the enemy. Live life in joy and welcome death in peace. Then will you be one with me."
Gospel of Thomas again?

But what about the Bible? Where does it say that anyone can be one with Jesus?

That's a laugh.

I don't doubt that Reagan thought that way. He also probably wondered why the Israelis didn't just slaughter all the Palestinians, like in the old days.

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Good answer.

So which is false and deceiving, the Gospel of Thomas or the New Testament?

Good answer.

So which is false and deceiving, the Gospel of Thomas or the New Testament?

of course neither you are deceiving yourself each time you question the word of god. that answer is simple and direct

"Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, I am the Christ, and will deceive many. . . . Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. . . . Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There!' do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders, so as to deceive, if possible, even the elect."

Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us. But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.

If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, "Let us go after other gods which you have not known, and let us serve them," you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for the Lord your God is testing you to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear Him, and keep His commandments and obey His voice, and you shall serve Him and hold fast to Him.

A most important thing to learn is that our Creator God is absolute Sovereign, executing His will in consideration of His own glory. "The Lord has made all things for Himself, yes, even the wicked for the day of doom." Does He not have a perfect right to do so? Since God is God, who has the right to challenge His prerogatives? To murmur against Him is rebellion. To question His ways is to impugn His wisdom. Never forget who He is: "All nations before Him are as nothing, and they are counted by Him less than nothing and worthless. To whom then will you liken God?"

I would never question the word of God.

I question the word of Thomas. I question the word of the misspelled Mary Magdaline. I question the Bible and its compilations and translations too, because they're the words of men, not God.

Please feel free to include a quote from Eleanor Roosevelt in your response.

You know Franklin, if you changed that pink whatever it is that's in yer AV, you might come off better. But God forgives you for posting all that stuff on a porn board.

you question the bible you question the word of god its that simple, have you no respect for anyone or anything?

God didn't write the bible

If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. And he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.
