This was funny (political)

I watched it. It would have worked better for me if it was Jessica Alba doing the talking. Or Brittany Murphy. Or Holly Hunter. Or...(don't get me started.)

"The democrats suck too" really doesn't cut it as an argument anymore, Trysail.

Everyone knows the Democrats suck at their jobs as much as the Republicans do. That's why political threads on Literotica tend to be about ideas, not the idiots currently doing a shitty job of expressing them, and why your contributions have been so marginalized.

Unless you are going for a subjectivist argument? That is, since both sides suck, neither side can be truly be said to suck? :)

This is so true. The current administration is so far to the center as to no longer be conservative.

As stated in Robs movie politicians are only worried about power not you. Most politicians, if not all politicians, are only worried about keeping the power or increasing the power they now have. The answer is in the first movie. Because we let them behave this way.

How long will it be before the American people throw up their hands and demand something new? Something that works for them? Something that is fair for all?

Let's check back with each other in about ten years.

Don't hold your breath. The American people don't pay attention, and it's only going to get worse. With the advances in the techniques for framing issues, ala Fox News and talk radio, when people do pay attention, it will be propaganda that's informing their decisions.

There was a book out a few years ago, pointing out how far ahead of the curve the Right was in framing the issues, putting the Dems at a distinct disadvantage. This was how GWB got into office. It is no longer sufficient to take a position on an issue. Now you have to frame the issue in such a way that your opponent can't respond without putting himself in a no-win situation. Whoever frames the issue first wins, regardless of the merits of the issue.

Yeah, I'm really sick of that crap.

and [not] surprisingly I found Rob's vid right wing from the get go.

Partly political broadcasts I can do without. No one says what they will do, only how badly the other guys are gypping you. Shouldn't there be a law against that?

There is, it's call 'truth in advertising'. Only the government and politicians are exempt from that law, just like the 'Do Not Call List'.
