Well, I haven't been about much. Work. EL could tell you, I work a lot. I like it. It makes me feel normal.

However, Lit is blocked at work.

Until we found a way around that.

And my boss and co-managers have taken a delightful humor in the idea that I write smut. Woo. I know there are many of us that hide it in a closet--I'm more amused by it than anything else.

I'm still kicking, not dead yet. Just wanted to say "hi".

Happy you're not dead, JW. Many of us still need target practise. ;)

Uh, in a couple of our cases accessing Lit from work would be a bad, bad idea. Would you want your kid's teacher checking this site at recess?

There's that. There's also that you are contracted to do a job, not spend your employer's time browsing the Internet. (And people wonder why they don't get moved up that ladder quickly in the work force.) If everyone in the States gave the work they are being paid for, imagine how well we could be competing in the world--and doing economically.

Our current economic stress has nothing to do with our productivity which, BTW, just happens to be the highest in the world. The Japanese were humiliated when that statistic came out.

Bloody typical, you pop in to say "Hi" and I miss you.

Do any of them know you star in smut, too? Now that should raise a few brows and get me a few sales, too! heh.

I miss you round here at least, my dear but then everyone knows that...

...my aim is terrible. ;)

Of course worker productivity (and attitude toward the work they are willing to do) has "something" to do with a nation's economic health. Quite a lot, actually. Can't fool me. I took economics at the university.

Joe - didn't you move from Buicks to BMWs, or something similar? Higher gas mileage would seem to be a prudent choice these days.

Sure. As long as it's kept away from the kids.

LOL I used to sneak in here during lunch break but I think I'm going to keep it a looooooooong way from the kids . . . like at home. It just seems more prudent. Besides, Liar, you're in Sweden. Things are more relaxed there. Did you know that the majority of U.S. teenagers would be horribly embarassed at the idea of taking saunas in a mixed group in the nude? Sad, really.

My sixth graders have enough trouble with the idea that the Romans all jumped into the (gigantic) tube together naked. When I point out that the Romans were the only people in the ancient world who bathed regularly and that their choice would have come down to bathing with their friends or not bathing at all, it gets really quiet. You can see the wheels turning behind the worried faces. Most of them eventually decide that bathing with their friends would be better than not bathing at all but they'd still rather have their own private showers. :D

Uh you may have a bit of a weird view of the Swedes. Mixed nude saunas?

Not? So much for much of the propaganda we've been fed . . . by somewhere. Thanx for the clarification. Perhaps it was a Norwegian-American's daughter that was relating the story . . . And they may have just been using a mixed locker room to change clothes. The memory fades as one ages . . . :(

Ah, reminds me of country song titles - I Still Miss You Baby, But My Aim Is Getting Better; How Can I Miss You If You Won't go Away...and so on...

Most of my clientele plays in the Range Rover end of the pool, some Audi. I do help the occasional single mom into a Jetta or something.

Well hell Joe. I was wondering at where you had wandered off to.

Glad things are going well for you.

I honestly don't mind work, or even working hard. Like you it makes me feel worthwhile.

Sounds like you get your fair share of sun dresses in there. Is your desk strategically placed to enable the sillouetted-by-the-window view? That would almost be better than having LIT at work, especially when the odor wafts your way.

(My apologies to the sun dress-wearing ladies, especially the ones who smell really nice.)

I don't mind working hard, so long as it's what I want to do when I want to do it. I just find something dehumanizing about having to be at the same place at the same time every damned day. Good thing for me that at least children are entertaining.

man, am I right there with ya...

I abhor being told I HAVE to do something... and things at work top that list. I'm so glad I don't have a boss... and can be creative in my work. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have that kind of outlet. It's a damn good thing I can make my own schedule. I'd be considered late every day.
