We have a life outside of Lit, although unfortunately it involves being at a hospital 3 times a week - but hopefully not for much longer. We were told today that starting next week we will be learning/re-learning how to cannulate the new fistula so we can be back home dialysing again.

We will be doing it at our local hospital this time and not having to travel in peak hour morning traffic - bonus! Although it means we will have to be at the hospital at 7am and we both hate mornings  Hopefully in a month/6 weeks (fingers crossed) we will be back in the comfort of home :)

Wow, I haven't been here in thousands of pages!

*waves at everyone*

I'm glad that things may be easing a little for you and G, Bandit. Being able to do things at home will make things much more comfortable!

hope everything ok with you .. :)
Yeah, it's nothing that is going to kill me...just makes me lead a very lonely and unexciting life.

You just may need to see a Gynkoalagist............:D
:nana: Indeedy! I have an appointment in a few weeks!

That's great news! It's nice to have something positive to look forward to.

Actually I like the reply. I work in an open-plan office...so no one tends to say hello or anything in the mornings. (Or if they do, then they don't turn around to actually look at me.) The only exception is the new big boss. He's lovely - and actually makes a point of making eye contact when talking to people!

I just found a friend of mine on FaceBook. I have not seen her since I was 18 - 11 years ago. It's nice to she remembers me and didn't put me on her ignore list! :D

I work in a similar environment and everyone says hello or rather "morning". The problem mainly is if you get there a little later than normal you spend the first few minutes saying morning to everyone. With the higher dividers they have now people can hide better. When I started working we had the proper desks, now its all modular kits with your back to everyone who comes to visit.

I have a friend who tried to get me to join something like face book but it wouldn't take my post code, its a US thing. I gave up trying to join it. She is probably really pissed I haven't replied.

Welcome Markie:) It's a good thread with some fantastic people.

why thank you I do try....oh you meant the other fantastic people....must have been something I said....I'm sure I brushed my teeth....

Now I know I've been bitten by this before so I'm not going to guess that the av and Markie are related....not that it makes a difference...the fact that I'm partial to female body parts...well actually to female bodies...should not make a difference...can you tell I failed PC school...

so yes welcome Markie!...I knew I could sound non-gender biased.

Grrr.....had a minor bingle in the car today - I was pulling out of a parallel parking space when a passing car (which I swear wasn't there a few seconds before) hit the right front bumper and wheel arch. Not much damage but still enough to need fixing.

My car is still driveable, I have contacted my insurance company and got a smash repairer to take it to, but there is a $500 excess and I will lose my no claims bonus :( I guess we will be without a vehicle for a few days while it gets fixed....hello taxis and public transport

So, DumbAss (aka the guy who still hasn't managed to take me on a date....after 3 years of "trying") managed to cancel on me again yesterday. I'm sorry that it's not worked out for us - I'm starting to think that there is a greater force working against us (either that, or he's gay <-- and I'm not just saying that. He could well be.)
So, I have another date on the weekend - with someone else! YAY!

I hope everyone is having a happy Black Friday. I've already walked under a ladder and opened an umbrella inside...now it's time for me to go and spill some salt. :D

:rose:

May be it has something to do with fact you call him DumbAss...not exactly what you want to be called on a date....Imagine if you went to Starbucks

"A large latte for DumbAss" can't see many people rushing for that one.

Then again any real bloke who asks for a latte probably should be called DumbAss....lattes are the quiches of the coffee world

Hiya Bandit,

sorry to hear about the car, however the main thing is are you OK?

I was a bit upset and a bit shaky but no injuries :) The other driver was very nice about it, there were two guys who witnessed it and one of them reassured me and told me to sit back in the car and breathe

This is the third accident I've had in 23 years of driving, and every time someone's driven into me  I'm surprised that in 4 1/2 years in Sydney that it hasn't happened before this!

Hi all.

Been having a fun couple of weeks for a change. A friend set up my profile on an internet dating site, to get me out and about. Its certainly been good for my morale.

The responses have ranged from the really interesting to the really riduculous. Have meet some very "interesting" people tho ...lol :D.

Still sorting out legal issues with the ex. doesnt help that he wont deal with anything. Im thinking that he thinks that if he sticks his head in the sand, it will all go away....pity it doesnt work out that way.

Anyway...roll on 30 June, so my work load eases up and i can hopefully take a well earned break
