They're going to do a lot of tough talking and then vote NOT to impeach Georgie over his war crimes...

The only success they have had is in raising wages and unemployment...

And they're so sure that you want more of the same, that they are running on a platform of change...

While at once giving you a preview of their foreign policy. We're going to talk very sternly to our avowed enemies. Okay, not sternly. We're going to talk openly, and honestly, just like we do with the American people...

They've been wildly successful at giving voters exactly what they deserve.

Teaching them a lesson...

If the lesson is, "The government is much better suited to run your life than you are." Then I'd have to say that you're absolutely right.

And the people want the government to run everyone elses life but their own, apparently completely unaware that they too falll into a demographic group that the government has targeted. The principle behind the governments ability to do so is ancient. Divide et Imperum.

All because we have a "progressive" tax code...

You're gonna vote to get the other guy if only as a means not to get got!

 Tax Big Oil? What's the other option...? Me? Better I get the rich guy, he can afford it...

13% approval rating. That's slightly higher than shit on a stick.

I'm sure that during his sermon that there will be endless goat and whine for the masses on the mount...

That's the point isn't it? Government cannot elevate anyone on the bottom rungs of the economy. They can move the rung up, but those people are still there on the bottom. Only the individual, through their own efforts, can get off the bottom rung.

But even in the elevating of the rung has consequences, those being that the fruits of the labor of those that did work their way up the ladder have to be removed from them.

At once the government provides two disincentives to progress. Those that are comfortable on the bottom rung have no incentive to expend the effort to move up and those higher on the ladder have no incentive to be more productive just to see the fruits of that productivity removed from them by a heavy handed government.

Your guy is never the problem as long as he's bringing home bacon and Nancy and Harry have been dishing as much pork as possible, so the Democrats are going to do very well indeed this fall...

Which means they failed to clean up the house and bring transparancy to the process, or they were just blowing smoke up our asses about corruption being an especially Republican purview...

As well as everyone clinging to the next higher rung wondering why the hell they're struggling when simple lack of effort will get them onto that lower rung...

Well, off to Saint Louie for a while...

Let's not forget what a fine job they did persecuting a baseball hero.

Which one?

You know cap I bet you would not be so anti government if they simply gave you a free limo. :p

The whole problem, is as has been stated, voters are stupid. They voted this group into office because they said change we will change the government, we will end the war in Iraq blah blah blah, and people fell for it. There is no way to exit Iraq and not give terrorists or american hating dictators a new playground and giving Israel one more headache. The only way to not have troops there is to have never gone in the first place.

Obviously that happened so we are stuck there because people voted a guy who almost certainly only got elected in the first place by cheating back into office. The American populace bought the bull he spewed about it not being his fault, he knew there was a problem in the CIA he just didn't get to put a new design in place blah blah blah.

People don't want a problem fixed permanently unless it happens two seconds ago. They want it to go away now, not next week not in three years. They don't want to make nice with the world because it means, time.

How many people kept up with what was being done about the torture being done to prisoners? How many kept up with how well our veterans are being taken care of in the hospitals? Hell when was the last time you heard a report on what is happening in Afghanistan?

Does anybody wonder why our schools are so fucked up?

Okay, then, how about a list of all their major accomplishments since Dingy Harry and Nancy "I Want A Bigger Airplane" Pelosi took over?

We'll wait while you try to find a couple.

You can join in, we are all inclusive UD. Over on the wall you will notice a little red box labeled:

"Leftwingers, in case of desire, break glass and remove tweezers"

:D

I wouldn't want to detract from your navel gazing and bloviating about the "socialist threat".

Igor's goat... Jesus, have you read anything in the last 50 years?

Of course there is no "socialist threat" right? Just friendly bureaucrats "here to help". There is no non productive strata of society with a vested interest in consuming the wealth of the productive with confiscatory taxes and certainly no need for balance right? We think differently comrade.

Commies and socialists and liberals.. oh my..

I realize how stupid you are to equate totalitarians with folks lobbying for less government.

Totalitarians by definition want less government.. They just approach the issue by consolidating power in one or a very select few individuals. Very much like "conservatives". Unitary Executive?
